We had to be in when the street lights came on...then we could catch lightning bugs in our yard...Good times
In the olden days when I was growing up. We were out playing from dawn till dusk. But you'd better here when mom whistled and be home in 5 min or less or there's be HeLl to pay.

When I was growing up, we had to be home as soon as the street lights turned on. And it didn't matter if we were 10 blocks away, we sprinted all the way home when we saw those lights.

Just got the call that there still has been NOTHING done at the shop. Looks like another week out. I know not working sounds like a good break, and it is, but no paycheck sucks.

That definitely sucks. A break from work stops being good when you realize there are still bills that have to be paid.

Daddy bought our 2yo a little fishing pole. She loves it and can't wait to go fishing! But she wants to bedazzle it first.

There is no crying in baseball, and there is no bedazzling in fishing, doggonit. :D

Yeah that was me, too. When we would start being whiny or bored, my mom kicked us out of the house!

Aahh the "safe" good ol days... My mom would drop my brother and i at the movies right when they opened and pick us up at night.. We'd finish watching all the films they had to offer all in one day..

Another CC flavor I have to try!

I am so far behind I didn't even try to catch up. I've missed hanging out, but got swallowed alive by work. Thank heaven it's the weekend. Charlie has a meaty bone, I have coffee (out of my new French press), so maybe things will remain calm for a couple of days!

I was always told go sit on the porch and read....Ewwwe...and if I got hungry I would hear"Would you like an egg'? Apparently we only had eggs to eat when I was growing up.

My parents threw us out of the house after breakfast. We wandered home at lunch time and were out again right after. If we didn't get home for lunch my mother assumed we found a neighbor willing to feed us. We had to be home when my parents rang the dinner bell. It was a huge brass thing that you could hear for at least a half mile. You caught hell for not coming when it rang. If you didn't hear it ring that meant you were too far away to hear it and then you caught double hell.
