I have 2 crock pots going today. Baked beans and beef stew. The poor dogs have to smell it all day while we're gone.
I need to start another soup in the crock pot tonight so I can have lunch for the rest of the week. Im thinking either navy bean or split pea again. Then again, red beans would be good too. The only problem with making red beans is that Mrs E and Kathryn eat them.

Thank You! I hoped that the book came in Kindle but it doesn't.I bought it.Thank You for the link.
Tiff, you answered correctly. No man every appreciated a co-ed baby shower. We are like fish in a forest...we just don't fit it there. Black, white and pink should be very cool together!

On the bright side, it's one mix per bottle, right? Normally you would be mixing 4 or more times to make 120 ml. :D

Ugh, Bamrz. Hope it's easily and cheaply fixable and you don't lose any food.

Stretchy, you can use mixes, but it's SO easy to make your own and it's cheap. buy a jar of yeast and a few basic ingredients (whole wheat flour, bread flour (you can use all-purpose in most machines as well), rye flour if you like rye bread, and then others depending on recipe. Common ones are instant potato flakes (either in the recipe, or mixed up into mashed potatoes real fast and cooled, then used in the recipe, shredded wheat biscuits, rolled oats....

If you have the time and enjoy baking bread, you can set the machine up to do the mix and first rise, then knead it for the second rise and put it into a loaf pan to do by hand from there. That's what I always do (I'm baking a couple of loaves today).

Here is a link to a very cheap and excellent bread machine recipe book:
Bread Machine Magic

I got that book back in the early 90's and it has a ton of great recipes, with options for 1, 1.5 and 2 lb loaves, along with a ton of helpful hints.

Home-baked bread is super cheap, easy to make and tastes fantastic.

Drats, I should have thought of red beans before I started the crock. I'll have to do those next.

And goon morning to you JD!

I may or may not be doing jam...
My machine came with a pretty comprehensive recipe book, and their website has even more recipes. I like using recipes so I can tweak it depending what I'm specifically in the mood for. I haven't purchased bread bags, but I'm going to amazon to look for them now. I just use plastic bags to put the loaf in. The last one I made was still fresh 4 days later. I can't make jam at the same time I'm baking the bread, because I'm going to try using the jam setting on my break maker instead of cooking the jam on the cooktop.

Oh that is a PITA...for sure...
Ya, it's a cheap fix but it's a PITA. :(

The freezer is still frozen but the fridge is about 50 degrees. Found out by googling the first time it's usually caused by the freezer door being not closed all the way and humidity collecting and freezing on the coils. The solution is to remove everything and unplug it, let it defrost and it's fine. But a huge mess. :(

OMG...i am soooo glad you avoided an accident. That sounded REALLY scary to me James..
Oh, I forgot to tell everyone...

Took Kat to the softball skills clinic after church. Actually, Mrs E took her. I rode the bike there. I love going to those clinics. The kids learn as much as I do.

Once it was over, I hopped on the bike and turned out of the parking lot to head home. A couple of the softball players were on a golf cart to go from one parking lot to another, and the only way to do it is to get on the main road. When they started to pull out, I knew they didnt have enough room. So I nailed the throttle to get around them. Instead of pulling into the center of the road where there is a turn lane, the continued to the right side of the road, where I was riding (still accelerating). At that point, I had two choices. Run into the golf cart, or ride off road. I took the only choice I had available to me that I had a chance of not running into something... I took a street bike off road. Naturally the bike got squirrelly in the grass, then got even worse when I brought it back on the road. Im just glad I had the sense to not fight the bike and let it settle itself out. My heart was still hammering by the time I got home. But I didnt die. For a second, I thought I was going to wreck it, but I didnt. Im not sure how.... but I didnt.

We (meaning I) had to raise the playhouse 4 inches so a 6 ft high pen would fit under the eve. Floor jacks sure do come in handy.

Looks at Drott and Bam...
I ordered an EHPro Kayfun and some 28 gauge Kanthal. God help me. I also ordered some pre-made coils with wicks to keep me out of trouble while I screw up some coils.

I'm gonna be begging for help from some of y'all that actually know how to build a coil, probably.

goof goon Monday everyone!

The sale is off to a roaring start. My first email of the day told me I'm a fool permanently for sending the email when we weren't open. I hit the delete account button pretty fast. There's foolish, for him. :D

And the fun begins!!!!
