Good morning all and Happy Friday!
My warehouse is unrecognizable now compared to what it looked like Monday. Its almost "clean". Of course, I have five pallets scheduled to arrive with items so large that they wont be able to go onto the shelves, but hey, I have at least
three hours of a nearly cleared off floor!
Its gettin' cooler here. This morning greeted me at 45 degrees. As I got out of bed, I realized I shouldve closed all of the windows before bed. As I stepped out of the shower, that oversight was felt full force. Brrr. Still, its supposed to get back up into the low 70's, and thats about what this whole weekend looks like. Lows in the mid40's, highs in the low 70's, and gorgeous skies with no chance of rain. GREAT softball weather! Yeah, we've got another tournament this weekend. I have no idea how it's going to go... Its with her new team, but they practice on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Only now that it's getting dark so early, they havent been practicing on Tuesday because their practice field isnt lit. And the Saturdays they practice, she has tournaments with her old team. Oh well. She'll have fun either way.
$300???????
Yeah, $300. Yes, its a lot of money. But, it is the best bat on the market. The good thing about getting a bat that expensive, is the fact that it should quite literally last her until at LEAST college. These kinds of bats get better and better as they keep getting used. It's supposed to be "hot" right out of the box, and gets hotter as the bat gets broken in. The microscopic breaks in the material that occur with each hit, will, over time, create a greater trampoline effect when it contacts a ball. And the joints between the barrel and handle are supposed to be made in a way that almost completely negates vibration and "bat sting".
And high end bats have been about $300 for a while now. We started looking for a high performance bat for her a couple of years ago. But we never bought it because we still werent sure how much dedication she would have to the sport. I mean, thats a HUGE investment that you dont want to take if you arent sure if she's going to stick with it, ya know? Now that we know she's very committed to playing, we are going to get it. You know how family members always ask "what do the kids want for Christmas?" Well, we're telling them all to just give us money for Kat, and what we plan to do with it. We're going to take that money to get the bat for Christmas, and if anything is left over, its going to go to paying for the next season, which will be between $500-$600.
