MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!!!!!

If everything goes right, I wont be too busy today. There are a few things I need to get taken care of, but nothing thats an emergency, and nothing that should take too terribly long. We do have our HVAC vendors scheduled to be here, but he's promised me that they wont be around too long. We're all hoping to get out an hour or two early. Then it's off to my dad's for our Christmas Eve dinner. Its also when they give the grandkids all of their gifts. I'm just hoping we finish up quickly so we can get home, get the kids showered and in bed so Santa can come and go well before midnight.

Weather is nasty but warm today. Nothing but rain in the forecast today, but the highs will be in the low-mid 60's.

This will make my 34th consecutive non-white Christmas.

I'm making a cauldron of chili today. Canning tonight. I decided to stay home today to get it done. Woo Hoo! Messing up the kitchen!!!!
I had that same problem last night! Mrs E bought like 8 eggplants. She skinned 'em, and I put the across the mandolin. She and Kat spent all night frying it up. The kitchen is STILL an absolute wreck. Flour and oil splattered all over the stove. Eggplant peelings and seeds all over the counters. My OCD nearly sent me into convulsions when I saw it this morning. She promised to have it cleaned up by the time I got home this afternoon, though. The inlaws are coming by this evening and Mrs E and her mom are going to make two massive trays of eggplant parmesan. I dont know how its going to turn out. When Mrs E makes it, I can eat a little bit of it (not a big fan of eggplant). But when MIL makes it, I cant touch it. With them working together on it, there's no telling which one is going to win out.
