Sounds like good news all the way around except for the drop in temp.Super congrats on Kat making the team. It's a great opportunity for her.My DIL went to UK on a baseball scholarship.I hope you get news on the house soon. It's lovely .
Good morning!

Our days of shorts and t-shirts are gone again. Looking at highs in the 40's. And because the id10t weather guessers MENTIONED snow/ice, everyone has lost their minds. Down in Charlotte, he said there MIGHT be a snowflake or two. The farther west and north has increased chances, but not where we are. And lets not forget that its been nearly 70 degrees for the last few days, meaning, that even if it does snow or sleet, there would have to be a LOT of it for it to stick, which aint gonna happen. Still... aside from it being a little cooler, its supposed to be a pretty nice day. The rain wont move in until late this evening.

Still no word on the house yet. Seriously hoping we get the good news today.

Mrs E's van shouldve been fixed by yesterday, but it wasnt. It should be ready today though.

We got a call from the coach of the team that Kat tried out with Sunday. SHE MADE THE TEAM!!!! Kinda. She tried out for their "03" team. And the coach told me that it was obvious that she was rusty from not practicing over the winter, but even with that being considered, she made mistakes in the field. So, what he's going to do, is move her to his 14U team who plays at a lower level of competition. He said that even with the mistakes, he and his coaches were seriously impressed with how well she took direction, her positive attitude, and her ability to make changes. It was obvious she had some skills, but the fact that she showed that those skills are able to be honed is what got her on the team. He talked with his coaches for hours Tuesday night because he really didnt have room on either team, but he didnt want to lose the chance to have her on the team. He also said that if he needed an extra player on the 03 team, he would probably pull Kat down to them to fill the roster. What that boils down to is that she gets more time on the field. And a positve for us, is the fact that this team is a part of a larger organization. So as the team gets older and moves up in the age groups, they'll be able to stay together as they age out of each division. Kathryn is really excited. She liked the coaches and the girls on the team a lot. From what I saw, I really think that this guy will be able to take her abilities to the next level.

Still no word about the house yet. I'm praying we get good news by the end of the day today.

Ummmmm..... OH! I'm back down to 200 pounds! That puts me at 7 pounds lost in the last 3 weeks! IF IF IF IF I can keep this up, I should be able to meet my goal of 180 by July 4th!

Tiff, dont get too discouraged. I respect teachers a lot. They have a very difficult job of educating today's youth and shaping them to be contributing members of society. Unfortunately, some of them are just dumb. At the very least, not that creative when it comes to developing an unorthodox method of teaching.

Drott, I know you arent in here yet, but I hope you and Wheezy are feeling better!!!!!

PD! I dont think I saw you around yesterday.... I have COFFEE!!!!!

FV.....um..... uh..... Yeah, I got nuthin'.

Bamrz......um..... HI!

SP. I meant to say this the other evening.... If this house is haunted, its because the spectre followed us. We think we had at least one that followed us from Norfolk to this house. She might follow us to the next one too. We dont mind her. She doesnt really bother anyone.

Well, our application for the house got denied by the guy's wife, who wasnt even there when we looked at the house. His exact words were "I couldn't get her comfortable with it without you having a rental history." SERIOUSLY?!? What about a solid MORTGAGE PAYMENT history for the last 15 years?!?!? Ungh. I hate people.

At least Ive had lunch now. :D

Thanks y'all.

I guess I'm just pizzed that they gave us a BS excuse like that. I would be a little more ok with it if they said my credit wasnt good enough, or I didnt make enough money.... Not "you have no rental history". No duh, genius. But how in the heck are we supposed to rent something if we have no history??? You cant get history until you can rent.

We're looking at three other houses right now. None as nice as that one though. One is the right size, still in Clover, but the driveway is so steep and short, even the van dragged bottom trying to pull into the driveway. The other one is a really old one, but its big. Still in Clover. We cant even view it until Feb. The third is smaller than what we want. But Mrs E is going to go look at it tomorrow to see if the bonus room can be used as a bedroom. If it can, we'll probably apply for it. The biggest downside to all of this, is that you have to pay a non-refundable (roughly) $75 to put in an application.

71 more to catch up to SP.:lol:
YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Good morning all.

Blech to taxes. Thankfully, we have a friend that does tax prep for cheap. And she's gotten us pretty good refunds for the last four years.

Nothing too fun and exciting going on today. Mrs E will be looking at the smaller house today. I wish I could go too, but "company policy wont let us show the house after 4:30". So they have to have the door locked back up by 4:30. I would have to leave an hour early to go see it, and I cant keep leaving early. It kinda looks bad from management's perspective.

Weather is icky. Cold and rainy. And its going to be like this all day and all day tomorrow. Of course all of the bread and milk is cleared out of the grocery stores because there MIGHT be snow 75 miles away. Stoopid southerners.

Sorry to hear it.t was haunted anyway...

I agree. I in no way meant that all teachers have no common sense. The kids have had several great teachers over the years. They've had some no so great ones as well. And then there are those that just plain don't need to be in the teaching profession. Discouraged? Somewhat at times. It's exhausting to do all the stuff that has to be done to make sure the IEP is followed, the right accomodations are made, be the one thinking outside the box, etc.

Good morning.

Congratulations to Kat for making the team! Sorry you didn't get the house you wanted, James. Good luck with the search for another one.

I haven't started my taxes yet. My 1099 just got ready so I'll start probably in the next week.

The shop is closed for the next 10 days. The owners went on vacation and I can't stay to keep the shop open all day so we closed while they are gone. I'll still be working at the other shop and cleaning the two houses I clean but will have a few extra days off the next week which will be nice.

Today is clean the house day. I'm going to take my time on it. I've got all day to do it.
