I have spend more in the first few weeks buying and learning. I also spent on supplies to make my own juice. In the long run I now have a better idea on what I like, 6 batteries 3 chargers, 1 Mod. several tanks and 510 drip attys. In the end I like the eGo-C for on the move durring the day and the Mod with tank for home. It can easily become a hobby and get expensive.

I'm about a week in now with my eGo and I'm still cigarette free from over a pack a day and sometimes more. I'm into it to the tune of about 100.00 and I have 2 complete kits and about 6 different flavors. The 10ml here are 5.00 so it's cheap to try a bunch of new ones. I haven't been motivated yet to try any of the flashy stuff although I did spent 7 bucks on a skeleton mouth piece. ;)

i am 6 weeks into vaping and have saved over $260.00. that total does not include the kit but does include additional juices and accesories i have purchased since. i am now completely set with everything i need for a couple months so its all savings from here. i was a 2 pack a day smoker thus it was pretty costly. when smoking i never really considered the cost but looking back it was pretty crazy.

I could buy 5 Provaris a month with the money we spent on analogs. You don't realize how pricy it is because spending money in drips and drabs is not as noticeable. Analogs are a slow bleed on the bank account.

We've spent about 150 dollars on our initial setup, including juice and backup batteries. Small investment compared to what we were spending on analogs. One problem, my husband is NOT sold on vaping. He's only on his third day but I think because he's not taking to it as quickly as I did he's getting discouraged. Also, with the way his mind works, he keeps asking questions like "is one pull off this thing equal to one pull off of a cigarette? How many times am I supposed to puff to get the same effect as one cig?" I don't have the answers, I just vape when I feel like it, but I wish I had something concrete to tell him.

I felt really bad when his sister came over yesterday and lit up an analog and he was visibly struggling with wanting one. He asked her to put it out and she said "I need one when I shoot whiskey", to which he responded "then stop drinking my damn whiskey!" That was kind of funny.

I had the same questions when I started...I read alot...asked alot of questions then realized that I would just vape until I didnt want it or my body told me to stop....(headache usually) after sticking to it I found my happy vape...Ive read on here that there really isnt a way to measure how much nic your getting in a puff because of the way the nic is delivered or measure a puff...Ive read here that it takes longer to absorb...so if he is struggling maybe a higher nic level...most people suggest that on here alot...but Im a newb too these are just some ideas/thoughts. good luck and stick to it. heres some links

mrs g - the best advice i can give for your hubby is - have a smoke. Many of us were not able to drop cigs right away. Thats really ok. his desire for a cigarette will diminish over time as he gets used to vaping. He will discover how much better vaping tastes to smoking and how much better he feels when he does not smoke all on his own.
vaping is about harm reduction. If he cuts his smoking in half he has already reduced the harm to his body. thats a great start. celebrate the sucessess and refuse to see any slips as negative.
Staying really positive about it all really helps.
the point is - take a "no fail" approach to the whole thing. There is no "failure" as long as one is on track - no matter how long it takes to finally get off the cigarettes.

negative pressure on one self usually just results in feeling like poop without actually increasing ones odds of success. so now you have "failed" and you feel like poop. No one intends that - but that is the net result.

allow success to be a slow process and encourage and celebrate every little mile stone - you will eventually get where you want to go and feel good along the way too.

It also depends on where you live, most people running those signature banners can apparently buy smokes barely above free... Take the one a few posts above me for example, it says $110 saved 2840 analogs avoided, well here I would have saved ~$1400 instead of $110. Considering that and the price of PV hardware, it's understandable that some people can't see the savings involved!

Well, if I hadn't gone a little overboard with the toy buys, and the $250 I spent in the first 4 months on the disposable 510 type tips, I would be much farther ahead... But I shouldn't have to buy anything for a month or so (although I am sure I will)... LOL

Here is a siggie that doesn't take into account the e-cig spending (it also calculates on the half day):

Well at first I did not save money.....till I got my bolt and DuD and started to DIY my juice. Now I'm in the savings. Most people look a vaping as a hobby so the keep adding to there mods. But I look at it as a lifestyle change. I have found wut works for me and I keep it up. So for me I have saved lots.

ok, so I recently did a bit of math, and I am down $50 thing is I have tons of 3ml juice, lots of 5ml 4 15ml and 1 30ml so pretty sure that is going to last me for a longtime. Also I have won a new 510 kit, HANDY :) But Saturday I am actually going to a vape shop, and I plan to spent only like $30 on small things, but who knows lol. My plan is when I have saved $200 I will buy this neat mod that is like $60. And honestly my biggest short-coming is that i like buying new juice when on sale....

I want to buy everything:2cool:
love this statement!!!! just got my did rba from mmvapors nicely made and should keep me busy getting the setup right long enough to keep my wallet in my pocket for a while. hope everyone stays off the cancer sticks its been over a year for me. its a little ruff at first but if you stick with it soon that's all you will know and the taste and smell of those dreaded sticks will become very nasty. I have to say this has been one of best moves I've made.
