Rewicked and recoiled 1.0ohm and way out by the air hole going to let saturate and hopefully this works

Edit: I feel good about this one I put my top cap back on and this is the first time I can see my coil :)

I have this happen when I'm using a juice that is vg heavy. No matter what I do at some point what you are describing happens. It only happens with the one juice I have though. Is it a thick juice?

Good point.

0% to 30% VG wicks very fast making life easier.

60% VG wicks medium fast; wicking starts to become challenging.

90% to 100% wicks slow as molasses; wicking is very challenging.

More juice is needed. I soak the junk out of my wicks. Usually have a little pooled in the drip well around the wick too. Just don't have so much juice that the coil is submerged or partially submerged in juice.

From what I see the cotton is too thick and choked inside the coil....it has to slide in with almost no resistance. I has to touch the inside of the coil but loose enough to allow it to swell....and it will swell...looks too tight in my opinion.

With a new wick keep putting jooze on 1 side of the coil and see if it wicks to the other side fairly quickly....if it does not wick through then it is too large..

I separate fibers to get a very loose mat. Gaps so big the fiber mat wouldn't filter peas. I combine desired amount of fibers. I don't twist.

My wick doesn't expand in the coil; it actually seems to stay the same or shrink.

I've had to repack wick tighter several times.

What type of cotton wick expands?

99.99% of all cotton will expand... You must have gotten that .01% emus!!! Aren't you using either organic cotton or hemp in your setups now? I thought I read that somewhere. I have never used an organic anything... My head tells me if its good for you, it'll kill you sooner than later!!

@who... I agree with moody in that you have to have too much cotton in your coil. As he said as you are threading it through the coil you should have little to no resistance pulling it through. Even the most minor sticking point will choke off the coil and burn it in that spot.

When making the wick with ur fingers how are you rolling the cotton.... I feel when I roll it gets to tight but if I leave it loose it won't fit through the coil and start to make shoulders
I think that's where it fails for me please show me ur ways

@who...I also agree w/ moody that OP wick has too much cotton.

My cotton is the 99.99 percent.
I think I know whats going on.
The individual fibers could well be expanding.
My finished wick is very fluffy; can see daylight through it.
I suspect the fluffy wick sometimes sags under the weight of heavy liquid and become smaller even though individual fibers expanded.
It does wick quick; that's why I love it.

Depends on the cotton. When I use sterile rolled cotton, I can roll the wick as tight as possible and it works great. With orgainic cotton balls a tight roll doesn't wick well for me, so I just kind of lightly press the cotton into the shape I want.

With the loose wick I use enough cotton for just a tiny bit of resistance when running through the coil for the first time; the coil squeezes the cotton a little on the first pass and after that almost no resistance. With a tightly rolled wick, I make the wick a little smaller than the coil so there's no resistance; the wick expands when wet to fill out the coil. For both ways, the wick can pass through the entire coil without snagging or making shoulders, if it does it's too much cotton.

Most people get the best results using very little cotton.. surprisingly little is needed. If I use too much the taste is off right away and I rewick.

I finger roll mine with thumb and index finger and roll thumb over index... I do roll mine pretty small and very tapered to one end to go through the coil. I try to trim the excess off on the negative side about 1/8" from end of coil and the other is a long tail that goes around the inside lip of the atty back around to the negative post.

That's pretty much how I roll tighter wicks too. Much like the action of rolling a ......... cigarette I guess; and a tight; tapered twist at one end makes it easy to thread. I skip the long tail though.
