Cotton wool from boots ?

Good evening all,

Apologies if this is a duplicate, i tried searching but couldnt find anything. Feel free to beat me into a corner if I've missed it. When you're done beating and laughing, please point me in the right direction

Has anyone here used cotton wool from Boots (United Kingdom retailer) for thier wicks ? If so any pre-treatment needed at all, or was it good to go ?

These are what my friends in the UK use Clicky

The baby versions tend to be much 'cleaner' than the normal. They dont require boiling or any other treatment, though some people do just for the sake of it.

If you want to boil, simply boil them in distilled water for a half hour, take them out and let dry, then repeat for another half hour and dry.

Oh, I should add,

If your leery about them, you can always order these. Organic cotton balls have had no treatment.

That was a proper "duh" moment on my part.. never even considered that baby products would be more sterile !

Im still laughing at the post....sorry. Why in the world would you want to use ol smelly boot stuffings ? I would spray them with Doctor Shoals fungal spray first....

In all seriousness....so, they mix cotton and wool together ? I didnt realise that. As Nataani said, just boil them.
