Thanks Fisch,

I ended up buying some wool felt off of ebay yesterday from one of the sellers that was mentioned in this thread. It was a little more than $5.00 total so that isn't too bad. It beats going to the store like a lost puppy looking for something that I don't really know what I'm looking for (like I did on my quest for VG!). I appreciate you offering to send me some though. At least there are still nice people out there!

So how tight should I pack the cart. Too loose and it leaks, and I get a mouth full of juice. Too tight and it holds on to the juice and I get nothing but burnt atty taste. I have yet to find a happy medium.

I have tried all sorts of cart fillers and nothing is working as well as I'd like.

Thanks,
~A

angelique,

I have found after much trial and error and a couple of helpful posters, thanks btw, that it takes a lot less than I thought it would.

I bought the wool from the mmd44 ebay seller that someone posted earlier the one that says great for felting. It comes in a sort of roll but its really nice because it is all brushed straight. I am currently using the 801 attys and carts and I stretch some out kind of like a spider web very thin and then cut off about double the length of my atomizer and about 4-5 inches of stretched out spiderweb.

Essentially I end up with strands of hair equal to about double the length of my inner cart and about 4-5 inches in width. I then roll it up from both sides to cut down on frays and then fold the roll in half. Next I stuff it in a dry cart slightly packed with the folded end up and usually end up with some sticking out of the top which I then cut off to around 1/4 of an inch over the top of the cart and then fold over the ends so there is mini fold at the very top when I am done. I also use the straw mod with this.

I can usually get 17-19 drops in before it starts pooling and I typically keep it topped up during the day but it seems to work really well and when I remove the filling the bottom is mostly dry. :)

Just had a thought that I will try tonight to make it a little less convoluted process :?:. instead of folding over and making the fold at the end of the process I will try making the fold while rolling it up then chop off the bottom end to the right length. might help with the fraying which is something that is annoying for me right now.

Never have had a problem with leakage though the wool does an amazing job of holding the juice even when I overfill it.

Hopefully this made sense I might try posting a pic tonight if I get a chance. :)

OK I was making it WAY too complex and using far too much wool this stuff really holds the juice so well that it doesn't take much material to achieve the desired results.

Last night I stayed with a little bit longer than twice the length of a cart but only used half the width of material so less than 3 inches wide. To start I folded it in half length wise then started rolling it up while trying to get all the loose strands into the roll then did a dry test with the (801) cart, then pulled it out and cut it down to fit leaving it ~1/8th of an inch too long. When the cart was stuffed there was room around the corners and extra space when looking into the cart but its still more than enough. I took the stuffing back out put 9 drops in the empty cart then inserted the filler again making sure to tuck any loose strands of hair into the roll as I was stuffing it as well as putting the straw in. Then cut off any loose strands after getting the wool to the right depth and stuffed some of the loose strands down into the cart, voila much less hassle than my other method. :)

After the 9 drops in the bottom I was still able to put another 9 or so to top it off. The result was great as well no leaking no bad taste seems to wick really well and I get a pretty good number of puffs before having to top it off again usually topping it off with 4-5 drops. :thumb: I am making sure to top it off so often because I am down to 1 atty so don't want to stress the atty out at all until I get my shipment from TW, after I do I am going to see how long I can go just fluffing the wool.

With the way I did it before I was able to get .5 ml draining two carts that looked and tasted like they were dry  so obviously it wasn't really working very well

Hopefully noone tried the method I posted before :nun:

Maybe this post will be more helpful :D

Here's another form, it is a very thick (3/16" thick!)felt. I have used this pretty much exclusively for a long time, did suggest it one or two times, no one seemed to be interested, but you are right! Melinda09, the very best filler of all. Just cut to fit cart + tiny bit longer. This is exactly the right consistency, holds juice and releases juice just like fiberfill, stays useful much longer. Recommend soaking overnight in plain water, then rinsing WELL before using. No additives, soaps, sizers, this is green as well. Write to seller for smaller pieces, it lasts forever. I don't know if proper to post link, but it's available from
If not proper I will delete it. I have no affiliation with seller.

Looks like what I use, you can find it at any walmart or Kmart in the sewing department. It lasts a hell of alot longer, Heck in fact you can find it at any sewing store if it's closer to ya!

I've tried them all. I find that the most economical way is to drip because I always wasted juice. Just one mans opinion.

last night I think I stumbled upon a good way to recover the juice from an old cart. I am using the 801 carts so they are rather big therefore not sure how well it would work on smaller carts like the 901 but what I did was take a good pair of tweezers and pushed down on the filler like squishing it as far down as I could then took a pipette and sucked the pooled juice out managed to get .5 ml out of 2 carts and the material was pretty dry when I pulled it out so I think I saved most of it :D

I was using this until a couple of days ago I stumbled across the ADM mod. It's so awesome. You guys have to check it out. You can use the wool on top as the "plug". It's crazy how it doesn't flood the atty if you do it right but it works!

sorry, can't post links yet.

I tried wool as cart filler. It was high grade "white" natural wool...I soaked and washed it w Everclear ...and rinsed it super well with hot water...dried.
What I really like about it is...it seems to somehow absorb the flavor....which is GREAT. Everyone has a few flavors they don't like. I have TW Marlboro...awful, awful flavor. With the wool it is tolerable.

I don't know if it's going to work yet, but I scored!!!!! Called my local High School Agriculture Dept. , they were sheering sheep for show this weekend. Managed to catch one of the students right after sheering. Got a whole Zip Lock baggie full of really nice looking wool. And the best part is that she washed the lamb before she sheered it. It has almost no smell and is really clean. Going to clean it with dawn and then a little Everclear.

Now I feel like a jerk. The owner of this company is really nice, the reason he's charging a higher handling fee is because the orders soared since this thread and since he's not making any profit from the nibs, he's having to charge a high processing fee to pay someone to fill the orders...

Hi Kimberly,
We will go ahead and cancel your order right now. Just so you know we will offer wool nibs to those who have a pillow that use the wool nibs without the handling fee, but one would need to order the first ounce which is $6.00 so that it covers the cost of shipping. We make no money in selling wool nibs. We have nothing against smokers. We are just in the organic bedding business and provide these at cost to our customers who have our pillow. We have just received an incredible amount of orders since being listed on this website and we would rather spent time making organic bedding than filing orders at cost for the wool nibs. I hope this makes sense. We are a small company and are just trying to do a good thing. I will go ahead and cancel your order right now. Sorry it has taken us a few days to respond.
Best,

so post a link, im willing to try anything right about now!

Ok, before I say anything let me say I tend to think outside the box on everything. I have long straight hair. After thinking long and hard about it I decided what the hell... I have a brush full of old clean hair every few days.

I am sure many of you can tell where this is going. That´s right, I used my own clean hair to stuff a cart. I have been toking on my carts pretty hard as I am still in the "new" stage. I was refilling them with polyfil from good ol Walmart.

First impression of the hair trick: delicious flavor, GREAT vapor production, and it has stayed clean for the last 6 drags I have taken. I am not looking forward to the burnt taste when I kill a battery or the liquid runs dry.

Will update with results once I get to the "burnt" moment.

To my complete surprise and utter amazement I found my hair to be exactly what I needed to fill my carts.

I vaped with my cart of hair for 2 hours non stop. Now after at least 40 drags I am recovering from a wicked head buzz I can say the flavor remained completely consistent and vapor production was immaculate. I got no burnt taste what so ever and got as much if not more of my e juice out of it as I would have polyfil. I think I will post a little how to video and create a new thread. BTW I am using a 510.

*DISCLAIMER* I am not responsible for someone getting an unsatisfactory haircut due to this attempt. :D

It is definitely on the "cutting edge" and a real leap for a cart filler. I´ve had no problems with burnt hair but I also don´t vape my cart until there is no more vapor production. I consider it dead when I get a light cloud out.

Well, if this caught on, would that mean vaporers would start measuring their hair daily to see how fast it was growing?

Just can't bring myself to try this one---burnt hair has got to be the worst.8-o

I would have to see a continuous shot video to believe you actually tried this.. I can't imagine the horrid smell!!
