I doubt any metal gets hot enough to emit fumes. If it did, we need to give up anything that uses coils.
I doubt it, not sure of the burning point of the metal dust from the type of cartos they were using, but it's never a good idea to inhale metal fumes. I doubt you would suck any metal dust into your mouth once the filler material has been saturated though and would probably never make it's way close enough to the coil.
