Hi All

I bought my first e cigarette on Monday - an Ego-C with Tobacco flavour juice 18mg. I used to smoke around 30 cigs a day and since monday when I started vaping i've been having only 2 or 3. Today however I feel dreadful, tired all the time, bad mood, craving cigarettes all the time and vaping a lot, i'm on my 3rd refil today.

Does this get easier? is the first week the hardest? should I give in to the cigarette craving and have one when I want and then vape as well?

any advice or support would be very gratefully received.

For me it got easier with time. And fight the urge to have one, but if need be, then please do. Just hold your PV in the other hand. Drink LOTS of water! I have an urge from time-to-time, but just grab my PV an vape.

Just curious, what type of cigs did you used to smoke? I find for me,just like with cigarettes, I keep vaping until I no longer have that craving. As a former smoker, I can tell you it does get easier. It may take a little bit for your body to adjust, but it shouldn't take too long. I found very little to no issue transitioning.

You're on the 3rd day hump. There's a lot of side-effects that just aren't so much fun when you're getting off ciggs nobody cares to talk about. Don't worry, you might not go though all of them but the majority here who are 100% off analogs and switched to vaping went though the 3rd day hump.

Get yourself some hot tea, take a bath, relax. If you can stay away from the smokes right now it will be much smoother sailing. If you choose to have a smoke, you'll have to go though the 3rd day hump all over again. So it's your choice.
I say if you can take it easy today, vape to your hearts content and stay away from the smokes. I know how you're feeling right now. It down right sucks. You might be sore, feeling depressed, you're body is craving all the extra chemicals they add to smokes. You can get though it if you really truly want to. It will pass. Think about how much you don't want those extra chemicals in your body.

Welcome to the forums btw!

You might want to try upping the nicotine content in your juice just for now to help you get past this first week. If you can, get some 24mg juice and vape that when your really getting bad cravings. That should help some with the cravings, and should also help you not feel so crappy.

Just remember, dont give up! I know it sucks in the beginning, but once you get past that youll def feel a LOT better, and youll be able to really enjoy vaping

Goodluck!

It does get better. The first few days for me were horrible. It's hard to get used to the fact that the nic in a pv takes longer to hit you than it does in a analog. Will the cravings ever truly go away, lord I hope so. But just remember that you have a great support group here and everyone is always willing to talk you down from the bell tower. ( "sir please put the rifle down" ):D
Congrats and good luck

No problem. The great people on here is what keeps me coming back too ;)

It's hard for me to tell you if the hump will happen again because of 2 or 3 smokes a day. Congratulations though as cutting back your intake so much. If you started to smoke regularly 10 or more a day I want to say the hump would happen again. I can't answer that with 100% certainty as I switched to vaping in 2 days. However, someone else with more personal experience there may be able to answer that. Anyone?? I'd like to know as well because that's a very good question.

From my personal experience I had cut down to about 5 cigarettes a day the day before I went to vaping 100% and still experienced the hump on the 3rd day of absolutely no cigarettes. However, my transition was quite fast.

+1 on 24mg juice & you may really enjoy cartomizers as well.

If you can order some 24 mg juice online, I would do that, and have a smoke when you need to in the meantime. All our experiences have been different, but mine was craving-free (and trust me, no one was a more dedicated smoker then I was). It might be you won't crave analogs if you get a bit more nicotine. Just a thought....

I second the suggestion to up the nic to 24mg.
I'll bet you smoked pre-packaged cigs. They're loaded with other chemicals that make it harder to get off them.
Even tobacco has alkaloids that contribute to the addiction but are not in e-juice.

I was lucky. I had switched to rolling my own additive free cigarettes before I found vaping.
I'm convinced that help me quit my 3 pack a day habit immediately and with no side effects at all, ever.

If you can't get 24mg., but you can get Snus, try that. A lot of people have been helped a lot by those alkaloids that are in Snus. The combination of vaping and an occasional (God, I can never spell that the first time) Snus is a nearly 100% foolproof way to kick those last analogs, IME.

Agreed with 24mg nic juice. I think your body isn't getting the usual doze of nic, that's why you are grumpy and got that cig cravings. Hang on there, it will get better soon. My tips to avoid that is Get yourself a can/bottle of redbulls energy drink. They contain nicotine, which will make you feel better.

I also, like RickMc, didn't have cravings. I used to smoke croatian brand of "analog" cigarettes that's a wee bit stronger than red marlboro in comparison, but as soon as I started vaping, I didn't have the need to light a cigarette.
I did vape like crazy though, the second day I actually had a slight nic OD :D so I'd also bet that 18mgs just don't cut it for you.
Thing that personally bothered me the most when I started vaping was the bad liquids I had, and pretty weak TH, so the week that I have been waiting for the new equipment was the longest week of my life
