Welcome to ECF! Quitting those stinky cigarettes can be a daunting process, and it isn't as easy as some people might make it seem. I was a pack a day (sometimes more) smoker for over 20 years, and with the help of those dinky little cigalikes, I was able to get off them. It didn't happen overnight (hell, I was a dual user for about 3 months) and it's best not to try and rush getting off cigarettes. If necessary, you can dual use...if those cravings set in. There's no shame in having a cigarette when you have that overwhelming urge.

May I suggest a pod mod system like the juul? That one in particular helped a friend get off cigarettes, and they're pretty pocket friendly. Pretty much a plug and play deal, with cartridges you simply install...not even a fire button, you just inhale like you would a cigarette (and they're filled with 50mg nicotine salt e-eliquids that do a fantastic job of curbing cigarette cravings)

Best of luck to you! You've definitely found the best "support group" on the internet. :)

I am helping a friend, sending her tanks, items to help her transition. She is going through the same. She decided to have a cig in the morning (which I used to know quite well) and just last week she told herself she wasn't going to buy another pack. She is making new friends at vape shops, hanging out with them (great support). Her big problem, as we all have had is finding the juice we really like! I myself bought my first kit 2.5 years ago and that day I threw away my cigs. Never looked back. Told myself "this is all you have from now on". I think once you find your spot (tank, coils, ohm or sub ohm, and juice) you will use it alot.
My puppy smells better since I quit smoking and food tastes great.
Hang in there, you have a great support group here to help.

Good to see all the advice here! But let me tell you some more benefits. When you find that setup that really works for you. When you find that juice that feels like it was specifically made for you. It can be soo satisfying! So smooth. So tasty. I quit smoking 3.5 years ago by vaping, smoked over 30 years, but never, never ever have I enjoyed a habbit so much as vaping! The subtle tastes can be so fantastic. And yes, sometimes, on old years eve i smoke a cigar (usually to light firewiorks), I am not woried because it smells and tastes so awefull, I cannot imagine i smoked those for so long! I can say, I will vever switch back, i am 100% sure. When was the last time you could say that when you quit smoking? I am that sure! Vaping is that good.

A good tip that worked for me, taste, taste, taste. I went to vapshops and tasted all their juices.

Donnam5044, welcome to ECF! You came to the right place for help.

Those Kanger e-smarts look a lot like the Kanger e-vods I used when I first started vaping. I quit for 11 months using those before upgrading my gear to a Provari and SvoeMesto Kayfun V2. So just saying your e-smarts could probably do the job. However, there's nothing wrong with trying out new gear.

It sounds to me like you don't have a high enough nic level to eliminate the cravings for cigs. I started at 36mg nic for the first year then changed gear and gradually brought the nic down to around 12-18mg. I tried going to 6mg and it didn't work for me.

May I suggest a reputable juice vendor that has a large selection of NET juices that are fully customizable. Which means you set the nicotine level, the PG/VG ratio, and whether you'd like to add menthol, or not. NET means Naturally Extracted Tobacco. I started out on the sweet candy like juices, but they didn't satisfy the itch. I found out about NETs by mishap and have never looked back. I'd like to suggest Heather's Heavenly Vapes. They are located in Newnan GA, and have been in business over 5 years. They are my "GO TO" place for juice. I highly recommend Huntsman, Pirate's Booty, or Legend.

Their Nic levels range from 36mg - 0mg and they have 8 different PG/VG levels form 80PG/20VG to 100% VG. So you're bound to find a juice that hits your sweet spot.

Hi all so I have updated my gear to the Aspire zelos 50 watt and the nautilus 2 tank but im having a nightmare feel like crying everything seems to be going wrong.
I tried the 18 mg nicotine but I was finding it too harsh so went to the 12 mg but still had that harshness so I thought maybe it was the throat hit I didnt like which I know is unusual so I tried a higher Vg 70/30 pg
But since putting that in all I can taste is a horrible like burnt taste so I cleaned everything out and new coil and tried the 50/50 blend tried a few different flavours but still the same I even brought a different tank Nautilus mini and tried the 50/50 blend and still the same im priming my coild and started on a low wattage but still got that taste, what am I doing wrong perhaps Im not giving it long enough is it normal to get a burnt taste at the start with 50/50 juices and higher Vg levels ?
Any help would be great just feel at a loss. Kind regards Donna

It sounds to me like your wicks aren't soaking up juice fast enough - they dry out fast and have burnt flavor. I believe you said you're a MTL vaper, so I would tend to rule out that you're hitting to hard, unless you're chain vaping. The wicks need time to soak up juice between hits. Something you can do to speed that up is to close off your air intake holes and take a couple of hits to suck juice up to the wicks. Be careful not to flood them however.

What coils are you using, and what mode on your Aspire Zelos? The kind of coils need to match the mode (Zelos has VV,VW, Bypass and TC modes)? I use the Nautilus Mini all the time, and have no problem with burnt taste unless I actually run out of liquid. I'm using standard (not for temperature control mode) 1.6 ohm Aspire Nautilus BVC Coils and wattage (VW) mode.

I usually just let it sit a bit (a couple of minutes) after installing a new coil, or sometimes I'll prime it by dripping a little juice on the holes in the coil, so that the coil is wet before vaping. If your coil gets burned the first time, it will continue to give you a burned flavor until you change the coil.

1.8 ohm Aspire BVC coil on VW (Wattage) mode should be fine! If you burned it on the first hit, though, it will continue to give a burned flavor forever. Do you have a fresh one you can try? New 1.8 ohm coil, fill tank with fresh e-liquid, let it sit a bit so the coil can absorb some liquid, then try at low wattage, like 8, as you did before, in VW mode.

If you've already done exactly this, we need someone at a higher pay grade than me to step in here! I'm sorry this is so frustrating right now (I know how that feels), but hopefully we can work it out.
