I'm not just talking about the switch from regular cigarettes either. Studies have shown that Nicotine has been correlated with a lower incidence of Alzheimer's and boosts the growth of new blood cells. It's also been known to boost cognitive function in patients with schizophrenia. You guys know anymore benefits? Better question is: IS there ANY harm in vaping?

Stupid FDA...

Some of the polls here show a percentage of users still experiencing side effects from vaping. I think the key term is healthier and looking at it from a harm reduction approach. I am curious myself of the potential harm in vaping especially organic VG.

The studies of the benefits of nicotine are very interesting though! Nicotine usage has also been associated with lower incidence of Parkinson's and ulcerative colitis.

Since it hasn't been around for even a decade yet perhaps it's too soon to tell. That being said, however, you would be hard put to find anyone who will say they've experienced anything harmful due to their use. Some people may find that they are allergic to PG and need to switch to VG based juices instead. Then there is the dreaded dry mouth, and some say they have developed incredibly fragrant flatulence, lol. You can read more in the Health, Safety and E-Smoking section.
As for benefits, all the ones you mention plus all the benefits of just quitting smoking of course. Then there is the thought that PG may be a potent anti viral/anti bacterial agent. Many of us who've vaped for a long time have noticed we hardly ever, if at all, even catch the common cold any more. I used to get a cold then bronchitis and possibly pneumonia twice a year atleast. In the 2+ years I've been vaping I've got one cold that lasted for 3 days, very mild symptoms, no lasting cough. I think that's amazing!

I don't know if it will ever be considered healthy, but I can say this is the healthiest winter dh & I have had in many years. He's been a non-smoker for 6 years, but still had some bad colds/flu every winter. I had 2-3 rounds of it. Since I started vaping, we've had none at all. I've heard others report the same thing. At the very least... vaping is healthier than smoking.

I don't think nicotine would be considered "healthy" even if it does have some benefits for some people. Nicotine by itself is not really unhealthy for most people, but it is no doubt addictive. If you're not a smoker I wouldn't really suggest that you start vaping.

As for the PG, VG, flavorings, I don't think there really is enough evidence to say they are completely healthy or unhealthy when inhaled over a long period of time. PG has been studied and is used in other inhalation devices, so I think there's not much concern there. As for VG and flavorings, time will tell. But, when compared to all the chemical in cigs I have little doubt that the possible risks are miniscule in comparison.

So, completely safe, probably not. Healthier than cigs, without a doubt and that is all I need to know. I do find it amusing that some long term smokers with smoking related problems will question the safety of ecigs while they are killing themselves with cigs.

Hubby printed out the stuff from wikipedia explaning what the PG was exactly, and it says (from memory) that years ago some tests were done on the effects of PG on lab mice, and they found it to actually prevent things like the cold. Intestesting!

I poo poo the 'organic' slant ... excepting that food coloring in eLiquid is pure madness. Nicotine is toxic. But, in normal usage, probably no more so than caffine. Absolutely nuts to use food coloring (are you kidding me??) in eLiquid..
healthy is pretty doubtful... inhaling any foreign substances (not oxygen) into your lungs is bad for you.
As a smoker, I could hold my breath for 30 seconds with some effort, after taking three deep breaths (deep as I dared). Just trying to inhale deeply brought on a coughing fit.
I can now hold my breath with a little effort, for 90 seconds. This speaks volumes for me.
