could you use the light bulb coil for atomizer coil?

I dont see why not as long as you can do the mod then make it, cutting the wire and re wrapping a wick could be a little tough though , why bother when you can use kanthal and make your own new coil ?

It shure does. Also coil in light bulbs is very fragile.

Kanthal and nichrome are two types of resistance wire used for making atomizer coils. Search ECF for these terms to see threads on making coils from these.

Light bulb filaments are made to get really hot in a O2 free gas. If you reduce the voltage they may last a little longer, but will still oxidize quickly. As Tomcatt said, what you need is nichrome or Kanthal, which both have a high resistance and are very slow to oxidize even at high temps.

I agree with Slimest - filament wire is very fragile and brittle. I would be doubtful as to whether it could be wound without breaking. Besides, why waste money ripping apart perfectly good lightbulbs when you can get Kanthal or Nichrome wire in up to 75 foot lengths for less than 10 bucks. (Besides, how would you be able to see what your doing without light!)
