Counterfeit/Low Grade LG HG2 Test Results

Not sure Bill, but never have I seen a post about 101 selling fake battery's and they have been around for a few years. Mine all check out and are authentic I am more than satisfied.

I got a feeling Kanger states they are fake if they don't order them from Kanger directly.

I looked at the 2 unused ones I have and looking at it, the insulator looked like a fake Shiny one, but I have bad vision and some Color Blindness so even using my phones Camera as a Magnifier it still looked smooth and no texture. So I picked up my Ceramic Tweezers and ran the tip around the Insulator and I could feel the Texture that way! Also put it under the Insulator and slightly pulled up and it doesn't look to be Glued down but rather moves with the wrap! I will edit this post and upload the Picture in a bit to see if one of yall can see what I Can or Cant lol

All mine from 101 have the insulator that mooch said is authentic, pic 5 of his slide show. I have 12 of them in all, 6 purchased a month ago and 6 received today.

I buy batteries from 101vape among other things, I wasn't saying they would sell fakes intentionally. I know they wouldn't do that, I was just saying it's possible for them to unknowingly get fakes from a supplier.

The proper answer from them would be we stand behind our batteries authenticity, if proven to be fake we will replace them. I know they could be taken advantage of by someone dubious but it would be few and far between.

It's much better to replace batteries than lose a customer.

I just bought some 30Qs and a tank from 101 a month or so ago and several things before that, if they won't stand behind their batteries I would definitely buy elsewhere.

Nobody said they would not stand behind the product. They responded with the fact that they were authentic only.

They said it with certainty like it was impossible for them to be fake, giving the impression they wouldn't believe they were even if they were.

Maybe they do stand behind their batteries, I don't know as I have no LG's. I was just saying if they wouldn't I would shop elsewhere.

Very happy to hear that. Thanks for posting. I usually order batteries from LiIon Wholesale, but the new sale over at 101 got me. Just ordered four more HG2s today. I'll compare them to the very good HG2s from LiIon once they get here.

Since these have been so popular that they often go out of stock, counterfeits were just a matter of time.

I just got some from 101 today and checked them against a older batch and they are identical down to the same insulator. 101 has never sold fake cells that I know of. Im not sure why you took offense to a honest answer from them?

That is really cut and dry. They only sell authentic and the ones your ordered are as such. Never has anyone found a counterfeit cell from 101 Vape. I would not worry about it, mine are authentic so will yours be.

Your good no need to worry. 101 are a trusted company and the only place I will order batteries because I know that they only carry authentic. Been ordering cells from them exclusively since the first outbreak of fake Sony's which has been almost 2 years I bet?

I just inspected mine and the ring is definitely not shiny white and I can certainly feel texture on the ring. I ordered mine from the same place I get my Samsung 25R's from and they have always been top notch. I think I'm ok. I'm going to load a couple in my DX200 (I have the 2 x 18650 optional battery cradle) hook it up to Escribe, go into the device monitor and let it rip. If they are sagging, I'll see it.

What is strange about 101Vape is that Kanger lists them as selling fake Kanger products. Kanger had them on the list for over a year now. Oh I see Fasttech has now made it on the list.

That's because they sell below the manufacturer mandated msrp. You'll see Fasttech remove scratch and check stickers etc of certain items due to this, so that the manufacturers can't get at their supply line.

Ok.......question........I'm like Kay P can't really tell if the white ring is glossy or matte, but.... If I run my fingernail over it in the direction from the outside of the cell to the contact, I can feel some slight texturing. There are no stickers on them, just got 6 of them from Orbtronic. RTD was out and illumn was 1.50ish more do ya reckin I'm ok, or not?

I don't know. My testing only covered the IMR Batteries cells. Try running one at 50W or higher. If it's a bad cell its performance will be lousy.
