Howdy: just a couple of quickies;

I vape the Sidesho; I just got 2 SS attys, and am wondering if I had the wrong impression. I thought that these would be the better - hittin' low - res attys, but they don't seem to be performing different from the other attys I purchased. Am I missing something?

Also, in the past I have tried cleaning my attys using canned air and burning - off excess oil using manual batteries, but it seems like I damage them; any suggestions? Also, how often is maximally effective, assuming heavy use?

I am also curious as to any ideas for cleaning automatic / manual batteries.

Thank you for any help.

Curious on the battery cleaning as well. There are some tips for resetting the switch blowing or tapping on desk. Some vendors say that when they get 'defective' batteries back they work fine just having a chance to dry out in the mail.

Have had some luck setting battery in a warm (not hot) environment to dry out, but effect doesnt seem to last long. Probably flooded again, but who knows.

Several good posts on cleaning atty's. Believe the mouthwash soak (you'll have to look up the exact brand/ingredients prefered) is the front runner, but I switched to cartomizers and never looked back.

You'll have to wait or hunt down a fellow sidesho user. Unfortunately site doesnt say what ohm rating they are, so as far as I'm concerned they are just blowing hot air saying they are that much better than a regular atty. (Geek speak for give me some technical data so I can make an informed decision) Of course if you've got a multimeter you can test your old and new ones to see if there is a big difference.

Might be worth a visit. Modern vapor has their own forum here.

CtrBoy,

Thank you for your reply. I'm a bit too amatuerish and armchairy for a multimeter. Instead I'm using a subjective (though vaguely empirical) method of comparing 4 different combinations of new / old batteries w/ standard and SS attys. Unfortunately, the variable of differential filling of the inner cartridges represents a confound, so it may become desirable to conduct this process using only a single cartridge.

Out of curiosity; you mentioned (at the end of your post) that Modern Vapor has their own forum -- isn't that where we are?

Burning these attys without juice in them will kill them quicker. Either use a lighter flavor juice or get some Vegetable Glycol (aka VG or Glycerin) can be found at Walmart, most drug stores, and e-cig sites with DIY sections. Put a few drop in it and puff a few times and blow it out into a paper towel. It's also good for clearing out stuck in or burnt flavors. I usually blow mine out into a paper towel at the end of the day to clear out any liquid buildup in the bottom of the atty.
