So, I'm new to this whole thing. I did some research, enough to just go out and buy a Joye 510 kit since it seemed fairly common and decent for a first unit. So far it's been great to me. Haven't touched a normal cigarette since I got the thing (a little over a week) and feeling great. I have a few liquids and am dripping directly onto the atomizer as a friend had showed me, which apparently is the common method. I've finally started learning how best to draw on it to get the most vapor and a good hit.

So now, I would like to try something that might be an improvement. As best as I try, I'm not getting a great deal of vapor from my hits even if they feel pretty heavy. I've seen a lot of people mention an adapter to a KR808 battery. If I'm going to make an investment in something like that though (I'd probably want to buy a PCC and at least 2 batteries) I would like to do my research first.

What can I really expect as far as improvements go from the 510 battery to the 808? For those who have tried it, is it worth it, or is there perhaps another unit all together that might be a better option for me? There are so many different models I just can't seem to make any sort of definitive decision myself because I don't know what all of the minute details mean.

I was a heavy smoker, so I'm using the thing quite a bit. I have no problem switching batteries, I do it several times a day, but I would like something that will give me more vapor and a stronger feeling hit. I'm already accustomed to (and quite fond of) the dripping method, and don't want to carry around replacement cartridges all of the time, so that's not really an option. I figured a modification to what I'm already using would be the next logical step, but what would the veterans recommend?

There was some measurements taken by a good buddy that says the KR8 has a higher voltage with a load but I have a KR8 batt with a 510 adapter and frankly there are better vapor machines than that setup, imo, from my experience. First would be the tornado and again- just posted this twice today - a good way to go as long as you have the 510 equipment is to buy a battery, cone and quick charger (what you'd pay for a kr8 and PCC):

that's post #16.

OR my suggestion since you're looking at 'upgrades' ... go to the top with a Bartleby and a 14500 batt that lasts 8-10 hours and gives you peak voltage performance for hours.

Bartleby

Go through the replies for feedback.... it's inspiring ;-) The cable acts as a passthrough while charging. There's an on/off switch - rare for mods, the peak voltage seems to keep the attys clean. You can still use the 510 to carto adapter for cartomizers - which vape better at this voltage. Nice ergonomics of the box mod similar to the Janty Stick. Drippable, but if you're dripper, asked for a flush mount on the battery connector.

this is completely normal activity  i spent a ton of money the first month. i found what i like now though, and am almost at the point we're i'll be breaking even within the next month or so. back on topic.

If you're dripping, are you flooding your atomizer? you may be, that could be why you're not getting the strong hits you would like. I smoked 2 packs a day and the 510 puts out plenty of vapor and throat hit for me. You just have to learn how to treat the thing. Also you may want to goto the local petstore and get some Marineland rite size U blue foam, and use that as a plug to replace the filler in the stock carts. Works like a charm once you figure out what size to cut the foam. And with a 510, the PCC is an absolute must. I bring 2 batteries with me to work, one is constantly charging in the PCC, i'm vaping with the other one
