Just to give you non-coupon people an idea .. here's my most recent save.

Groceries .. before store coupons/instore deals/manufact coupons total: $250.48 ... after: $145.59

I can live with that. Not only is my freezer/pantry full of food that we will eat, but I have $104.89 to spend on pretty, shiny things. (and I'll only have to hit the store for milk, bread, tomatos, lettuce, etc) I swear, it's like a high seeing that difference!

Btw, I got the freezer free too .. our local store had a deal, buy a freezer for $159.00 and get $160.00 worth of frozen food coupons. Turns out, the frozen food coupons were all stuff we eat, and we used every one of them. So, I actually made $1 on that deal, plus got a new 5 cu foot freezer. Can't beat that with a stick!

Never PAY for coupons & It's not a deal if you can't use it. Although sometimes I buy stuff that ends up free just to give to the food shelves. Our local food shelf has personal items too, so I use the deals to give them toothpaste, deo, tampons, etc. I also recycle my pantry by keeping fresh stuff, giving old stuff to food shelves. (Not expired, just getting close to)

I have to admit I have used a clipping service one time. Peter Pan peanut butter had a .50 off coupon but not in our market - it ran in the south east only. I bought 15 for 2.85 including shipping and used them to get free peanut butter. (on sale here for $1 and our store double .50 to $1) We go through a jar a week or so. And I donated 4 of them. Our schools have food pantry drives every month. In fact we're competing this week and next against 13 other schools in a "fill the bus" competition. lol

The food pantries are trying to stock up before school gets out.

meems - how did you meet your carrier? I'd love to see mine - but they come before the .... crack of dawn!

I've been through 3 since I started, the first time around I left a note in my paper box & asked for their number...then as they quit, they passed on my info to the new person....the 1st two still fill in occasionally & also leave me stuff, they LOVE my stockpile trades, I've treated them well! I've never met the latest one, we just text back & forth.

Now if we could only order Pizza Delivery on ECF - I'd never have a reason to leave.

I'm a coupon person myself - and am glad this topic was created!

It's like a sport - just got back from Walmart and literally cut my bill by 50% - feels really good. Even used a $1 off Marlboro Snus

Seems like a lot of the bargins are from Walmart. The Walmart near me doesn't really carry much food. It's not one of those huge, super-duper Walmarts.

My trip today was $200 down to $32..and I got back $8 in catalinas for my next purchase...and that's kinda high for me.

wow that's amazing, do you have access to stores that double coupons? In Reno there's only one store that doubles and they have the most complex rules in the world for doubling and will turn you down every chance they get..I carry the printed rules and stuff them in the face of the cashier when they balk at my coupons and some of them still want to argue with me.. The problem is that the store is expensive and believe it or not there are times when even with doubled coupons they are more expensive than other stores.

Does anyone buy coupons on ebay?
I don't buy coupons. Almost all the stores here limit how many coupons you can use at a time, and most of the great deals that make coupons worthwhile are for a week, so I'm not sure you would even get the coupons in time to take advantage of them.

Some people buy the back issues of the booklets when they first start off. I didn't, of course I had my mom's old papers to raid, so I had 1 of most of the older ones. The other thing I do with my multiples is de-coalate them and staple each same page together, then re-coalate. That way I only have to find the coupon once, cut once, and I have all three ready.

I buy coupons on ebay if it isn't one that was carried in my area, example, this week lysol spray cleaner & liquid cleaner is on sale..coupons make it free..I ordered 60 coupons on ebay, paid less than $8 for the coupons (actually half that as I bought a ebay GC from groupon)...so, for $4ish I am getting 60 bottles, I'll share some, keep some & sell some.

Pixie, yes, our stores double up to .99, today my free items were, colgate toothpaste, toothbrushes, lime away, lysol spray, lysol liquid, san something (tired) pasta...I'll be getting a bunch of all of those items with multiple trips. The colgate is actually paying me $3 (catalina for $3 off my next order OYNO cat) for each $10 I purchase (which is actually 0 after coupons) so those are a money maker MM.

Worst case, items sold out..get a rain check & buy it next week!

Trying to include coupon lingo as I go..just so you know what I mean if I abbreviate in the future!
