Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the CR2 battys, Use 2 of the 3v (Ultrafire 900mah) in my PV and they dont seem to hold a charge as long as I thought they would About 3 hours it seems with a good vape. Is this pretty normal for these batteries?

Is there a better longer laster battery in this size to use/.

Thanks.

I'm guessing you're using a Prodigy or similar. Assuming a 'standard' resistance for the atomizer of 3 ohms (for 801/901), that's a current draw of 2 amps every time you take a drag.

At 1C (amperage draw equivalent to mAh rating), the battery will discharge in 1 hour of use. Pulling 2 amps, you are hitting the battery at a 2.2C rate, which means you have slightly less than 30 minutes "working time" before the batterys die out.

Outside of carrying an extra set of batteries, your only other option would be an 18650, but that would have you at 3.7v and not 6v - it *would* last much longer, though.

Unfortunately the 900mah rating is bogus just like in most Li-ions.
I personally would say it is much closer to around 500 mAh, which for a heavy vaper would mean anywhere between 1 and 2 hours of use.

mnealtx's idea could be taken closer to the 6 volts if you use two 18650 batteries rated at 2,500 mAh with a regulator to lower the voltage form 7.4 volts to a nice 5v, that would probably give you about 5 to 6 times more than what you have right now.
The big con is the size and weight of such batteries put together,
one 18650 alone is 2.5 inches long and 3/4" wide aprox.
