Hi! We're here for ya! Not sure what your attitude towards this is, but I found it easier to just let myself have an analog if I really wanted one and not feel bad about it - overall, I'm still doing great for my health. I figured it's kinda like dieting - if you stress out about having a bar of chocolate or whatever, then the guilt makes ya wanna eat more and the cycle continues. So, that's one avenue.

If you're of the mind that you really don't wanna pick up an analog, I'm rootin' for ya! I'd try hitting the vape a little harder (not too hard) and maybe stealth vaping every couple puffs - I think holding it in longer increases nic absorption plus the lack of oxygen makes you feel the buzz more like an analog.

If you have a craving for an analog, go ahead and have one:) No one said you had to quit smoking all at once. Go ahead and have a cig and what I did was take alternate hits off my 510.

By comparing them to each other I eventually decided the cigs tasted like weeds, and the e-liq was soooo much better tasting:D

I didn't completely quit until about 4-6 weeks in.

I still keep a pack of smokes in the console of my car. When I've gotten really stressed, I'll take one out and lite it up8-o 2 drags is the most I could get thru, tastes like a--

It's a process, not a test. Hang in there and have a cig if you really want one:) My nickel, well maybe a dime:rolleyes:

Well, many vapers continue to use an analog or two or more per day to just give them that little extra kick they need, so don't feel bad if you feel you absolutely have to have one. You don't have to smoke the whole cig either, maybe after a puff or two you'll be satisfied for a while.

Just give it your best try every single day and be happy with how much you've already accomplished. Some members also use Snus, which works very well for them. Snus may sound bad, but it sure is better than analogs.

Keep in mind that you've only been vaping for a week and our PV's are not intended to be miracle cures to help you quit right away. You are already doing good so just do whatever you feel you have to do and don't worry about it. You have already made progress!

What is it your craving? is it the chemicals, Think about it now what is it? Is it the smell? Cause if you think about it they stink. Or is it just the putting it in your mouth and puffing? You already have that part vaping. I bet if you rationalize it to yourself you will see that the hardest part is your changing your habit and that is the hardest part humans face in life. It isn't the nicotine cause you are getting that and an analog only has 1mg. of nicotine that you absorb when smoking. Lastly if you haven't figured it's really not the actual analog you crave then do what AA does and just say I'm not quitting, I'm just not going to have one right now, maybe in an hour I'll have one. I Wish you luck and hope you stop because YOU are worth it.

@ohmeohmy, There are chemicals other than nicotine in analogs that are addicting also. It will take couple of weeks for the analog craving to end. If you slip and sneak one in it will be OK, resist the temptation to smoke the analogs as much as you can. I promise you within a month you want even enjoy the smell of a analog much less want to inhale a puff. The next month you are going to start feeling better and no way you will go back to the analogs. This is what got me through when I was starting: In the morning I would vape 24mg and taper off to 18mg or 12mg after I was through the morning urge. It get you nicotine level up so that you are not vaping constantly. Hang in there you will thank yourself next month.

I am at two weeks, yesterday was my first analog free day. Today I caved and had one.

Invest in your health, order up on some extra batteries and attomizers, make sure you have a nice little pile of carts and order a ton of juice. I ordered ten flavors from halo and tastyvapor and I also ordered a sampler kit from johnson creek.( I recommend this sampler for anyone new to vaping) Order yourself a nice wide variety of flavors, it pays off in the end. If one flavor isn't cutting it, I'll switch to something else. I usually start with a coffee flavor, switch to menthol or cinnamon for the day and go to a nice mellow vanilla or woodsy flavor in the evening. It keeps it a bit different and has helped the analog crave.

I was a one type of cig person, so today when I did cave I smoked some cheap nasty nonmenthol cigs my hubby had. Bleck, it was enough to pacify me and kill the crave. I also figured out what time of day I must have a smoke, it is mornings, so if I gotta have one it is in the morning. I allowed myself three per day (I smoked just under a pack daily) and now I am at one to none. I can live with that, it is a heck of a start. I also am not letting myself have my regular brand, rather at this point, getting something that I'll dislike even more. I know I am pretty darn desperate if I want an analog to smoke it.

Hang in there, any reduction in your analog habit is good and the great thing about switching over is you don't have to quit cold turkey to have success.

Remember that every analog you don't have helps that much more.

I tell new people that I have helped to do this, Start off with 1 analog, 1 5min. vaping. This way you cut your analogs in have for the day. When you are read do 1 analog, 2 5 min. vaping, etc.

Remember that an e-cig is an alternative to smoking, so let it help you, don't force it or you will give up on it.

Hope this helps and good luck!!!

OP - I didnt quit right away cos my body/mind wasn't ready to do so, so I went with that. I had no intention of quitting initially I jsut wanted to cut back on all those cigs I smoked that I didn't actually LIKE - you know exactly what i mean, right?
I liked about 5 maybe from the 20 I was smoking, The rest were sort of 'filler' or cos i was bored but not hungry.
In the end I gave up 'naturally'. The PV became the thing I started craving, not the cigs.
If I wanted a smoke, I had one. One day, and all the following days since, I didn't want one.
I also have some 24mg if I really need a hit of nic that makes my head go 'woah' but usually I vape on 12mg or lower because that works best for me right now. Maybe in future I'll go down lower still but that day isn't here yet :)
