I'm still liking the PTB Straw mod, but has anyone tried floral water beads as a filler? I was thinking that a really thick gel would be an interesting concept and came across these non-toxic gel beads. They expland and hold water for floral arragements, yet release the water for the flowers. Hmmm...

Also was thinking about the problem of the atty pushing the foam back and thought about a foam-tipped straw or plastic and thought of eye shadow applicators and found these foam-tipped swabs:
I believe the straw goes into the swab a bit, which would support it against the atty? The tips come in all different sizes and shapes.
I also thought of a stiffer foam that holds water, like floral foam (which led me to the beads, as well) but regular floral foam isn't non-toxic. They do make a non-toxic floral foam, but I could only find references to it in England.
Just some ideas I'm throwing out there!
