Credit card abuse

Hi all .... I have bought lots of great e-juice from the many vapor sites. My problem is I have to jack up my credit card for my purchases. I would love to use my Debit Card! Instead of cards at outrages charges. Any hoo ... does anyone know of places that will except Debit Cards. Sure would feel better knowing I'm not paying 30% interest for a $30:00 dollar purchase.

Is your debit card a visa? I used to use my bank card for purchases online and never had an issue...

I've never had a problem using my MC debit card anywhere. That said using your CC does offer an extra layer of buyer and fraud protection.

If it's a visa debit card, just enter it in as a visa credit card. I do that all the time online. Never had an issue with it not going through

About the only thing I use is my debit card, and every time I do I think about how stupid I am for doing it. I've been stung a couple times and the resulting hassle trying to recover funds should have taught me something. Credit cards claim otherwise, maybe someday I'll wise up. The convenience of the instant bookkeeping of a debit card is alluring.

It raises your credit score.

Credit card companys like to see big ticket purchases for luxury and entertainment items on a regular basis that you then pay off consistently at the end of the month. Your credit score won't improve if you don't use (and pay off) your credit card. And as others have stated, you only pay interest if you have a balance at the end of your payment cycle. So i assume because you are saying you want to use your debit card you actually have the cash in hand. I have a FICO of 817 on my main credit card and very rarely have more than 4 or 5 bucks on it at the end of a billing cycle (sometimes a subscription hits at a weird time).

Are you using a pre-paid (or pre-loaded or...) card? They are not the same as bank issued debit cards and don't work for all on-line transactions. Entirely up to the place you are doing business with and their transaction processing services as to whether they are accepted or not.

When fraud problems started reaching gigantic proportions a few years back I severed any connection a debit card had to my bank accounts. Debit card fraud involving real money - in your very real bank account - as you have found out can be a much slower process to get reversed. Until/unless the USA system is brought in line with 21 century standards in place in Europe - god forbid, the need to use a PIN code even to transact a credit card - I wouldn't even think of having a bank debit card.

jabber, if it's a bank VISA debit card you should be able to use it the same as any credit card, but it will deduct the money from your bank account.

I only use a debit card - Bank issue -Mastercard issue - I have money and I like to pay for things with money I have.
I have bought from - Nicquid , Crystal canyon vapes , Vapor fi , halo , Heathers heavenly vapes , world of vape , Highbrow vapor , Itc vapes , Nicoticket ,
Mount baker vapor.
All transactions went perfect.

I've never understood the attraction of Debit cards. I would use them if the store gave me the "discount" that they give to VISA - or even 1/2 of the discount - but otherwise it is more advantageous for me to use my credit card. Double the warranty for up to two years, stop payment, etc. I have my cc set up for automatic monthly payment in full so I never pay interest on a balance.

Of course the store wants you to use a debit rather than a credit card; it pockets the amount they would otherwise pay to VISA (or MC or whichever).

Get Google Wallet card and load it from your debit card/bank account. It's basically a prepaid Mastercard, and there are no fees if you use a bank account to fill it.

I only make purchases that I have the funds to cover.

I have a spreadsheet to manage my bank accounts. Similar to the register in the checkbook but more detailed.

When a purchase is made with a credit card that purchase is entered into the spreadsheet.
There is a specific column for all major bills and monthly expense groups in the spreadsheet.
Example would be: Make a $10 vaping purchase and $10 is subtracted from the "Vaping" column and added to the "Credit Card" column.

If there are no funds remaining in the "Vaping" column then no vaping purchases are made.

Pay the full statement amount every month and no interest is incurred.

This practice obviates credit card "abuse", accrues points that translate to free money and makes household budgeting much easier to adhere to.

Why anyone would ever entertain paying interest for an e-liquid puchase is something I can't begin to comprehend.

You really do not understand CC procedures do you.
Stores do Not give VISA/etc. Discounts. Stores are Charged a Percentage of each and every purchase plus a processing fee on every CC transaction they accept.
Stores would love nothing more than a way to close the transaction additional Fee Free - then they could reduce artificially high pricing without incurring loss.

As an ex-small business owner I assure you this is correct and the smaller the business the higher the fees.

Paypal Debit Master card - works like a CC or a DC, but is a DC and adds a layer of protection. Fast email notifications of all activity.
And YES, it can be used all day long to make e-cig purchases.
