At this time Carnival has no rules on vaping. In case you didn't see one of my earlier posts, the captain on the Pride actually has an e-cig and uses it. :) That being said, I don't use mine in the dining room and food areas. I'm discreet when using it in other venues where smoking isn't allowed. I've never had a problem using it in those areas.

popsec;
Thank you for the info! I'll be sure to let my sis know. I'm glad the Pride's Captain is an ambassador for e-cig users!

Maybe I'm a bit too late with my response, but it is EPIC all the way. Carnival ships are considered to be the low-end of cruising. While a couple of their newest ones are almost up to par with NCL/RCCL, they still fall short. Epic is one of the most incredible ships in the world and is an entirely new take on cruising.

Budget End: Carnival, MSC, Costa
Premium: NCL, RCCL, Disney
Ultra Premium: Celebrity, Princess, Holland America

I've very much leaning that way, due to the entertainment options and the water slides.
My wife can sit by the pool all day, but I'll be swirling and sliding!!
:)

I didn't want to go to Nassau, that was one of my main issues, until I found out they had this Atlantis water park there.
That water park looks awesome, and I am a huge water park fan.

Thanks for all of the replies I've gotten though.
I certainly wouldn't mind further input.

We've been on 4 Celebrity cruises, 1 Holland, 4 NCL and 23 Carnival cruises in the past 5 years. As far as service goes, we've gotten exceptional service on almost every cruise. I think NCL has better entertainment and musicians than Carnival but Carnival's main dining room offers better food than NCL. For the money, Carnival gives you alot for not too much money so I wouldn't just dismiss them as "budget".

It's good that there's a cruise line for most tastes :) ~Linda~

Really! I find that very interesting. I know next to nothing about cruises, although I would like to learn first-hand! :)

Lets all book a E cig. cruise with all the forum members here! Just think of the discount we would all recieve in our bulk booking!. There would be so much vapor people will think the ship has a extra smoke stack!. We could name our cruise group the "VAPERS 2011" Just think what those banners hung on the side of the ship would do for the cause!. What a sight it would be with the decks lined with people smokeing 510s on the sail away a FU FU drink in one hand and a 510 in the other!. We could even have several of the forum venders on hand for juce and addys!. It would be a epic sail for sure!. My wife and I go on 3-4 cruises a year on Princess and believe me they dont cost that much. Also when "groups" book the cruise line even gives free cabins away depending on the number that book the cruise. This means the moderators here could cruise for free!. Just think of all the juce swaps that would happen on such a cruise!

I have to agree! I have been on 4 Carnival Cruises, one Royal Caribbean, and looking forward to a Princess Cruise in May! I have to say, I love Carnival! Royal Caribbean was great and I really enjoyed that cruise as well, but there is NOTHING like a Carnival bed! They have the best! I have heard Princess is as hard as a rock, so not looking forward to that, but I am sure I will like Princess as well! It would take a lot to make me not like a cruise lol! But Carnival is awesome and we have always walked away from a cruise with them totally satisfied! Spirit Class (Like Spirit and Pride) and newer are very nice! 3 or 4 day cruises on any line can tend to draw a rougher crowd (Not near long enough for me anyway! lol), but every 7 plus day cruise I have taken has been very nice!

FYI: Princess and Carnival are the same company.

Carnival owns quite a few cruise lines:
Budget: Carnival, Costa, Ibero Cruceros, P&O
Premium: Princess, Holland America, Cunard, Aida
Luxury: Seaborurn

Returned home a few days ago from our cruise on the Coral Princess. First airflights and cruise since I started vaping. vaping on the ship was great ! I think I was the only passenger on board vaping. Not a lot of questions from other passengers the first few days but toward the end of the cruise it felt like I was answering questions constantly from other passengers that finally got up the nerve to to say they'd been dying of curiosity for days to ask what the heck was that thing I was using! Nothing but positive comments from everyone that chose to comment on it to me or ask me questions. There was a lady in the casino one night that started to get upset because she thought I was smoking in the non-smoking area but before I turned to say anything to her I heard her companion tell her he wasn't sure what it was but it wasn't a cigerette because it didn't have a smoke smell and she simply said ok and walked away. On about the 12th night the casino host came over and wanted to know how many different ones I had since she'd seen me using several different ones during the cruise. She told me that one of the workers in the casino uses an ecig sometimes but hadn't entirely given up smoking yet. I didn't choose to use it in any of the eating areas or theater but everywhere else I vaping anytime I wanted with no problems.

Going through security at the airport in Buffalo I did choose to put my small case of batts/attys/carts in the tray with my bag of liquids and the security guy did take it out and ask what it was and looked though it. He said he was familiar with seeing people with e-cigs but there were so many different types he wasn't familiar with all of them. No problem once he verified with me what they were. Returning home from the cruise in Fort Lauderdale I left my e-cig case in my carryon and security didn't question it at all. Ok, I admit I just had to do it so I could say I had- I vaped in the bathroom on our Delta flight between Atlanta and Los Angeles and I stealth vaped in my seat a few times. Felt good to do something I wasn't suppose to do! LOL

Thanks for sharing about your experiences :).....wasn't traveling as a vaper ever so much more fun than it was when you were a smoker?

It was great ! Several of the smokers joked with me often when we passed each other that I was "cheating" but I just laughed back that they were confined to their little smoking areas and I could vape where ever I wished so they were just jealous. LOL I think a couple of them will be seriously investigating getting PV's before their next cruise.

Our private tour guides in Acapulco, Costa Rica, and Panama were all intrigued by my PV. None of them had ever seen one nor knew anything about them.

I just popped in to say were leaving for a Carnival Legend cruise in 11 days or so.
First cruise with Carnival. I loved all the HAL cruises and will do more with them but thought we should try some of the other lines too.

First time vaping on a cruise, should be interesting:)

You'll have no problems with the Legend....they were used to seeing us vape all over that ship :p
