What ohms (roughly) is the coil in the phonenix clone as shipped? Also the pre-made coils? I'm going to pick up a multimeter this week before I try rebuilding it, but I'm curious as the general range they are in.

Thanks!

I am not really sure I think it was 2.0 when I tested it, if you ask in the general thread someone will be bound to know. I'd check but I am currently swamped in about 200 orders... no sleep tonight lol

The only thing better than putting together an order and making a purchase online is: actually getting it the next day!!!
Took me a little while, but finally found a good vendor with decent prices, great reputation and just happens to be in the same state..
Thanks for the rapid deployment of my goodies. I'll be back!!

Thanks!

Brian

just wondering if the terminator c can be set up using only kanthal and no nr wire?cant seem to find anything on the subject

Not the best idea to do that, I've heard that it "is" possible though. The thing is, is that depending on the gauge of wire, you could have a huge amount of resistance. With 32awg kanthal, I reckon it'd be in the area of 4-5 ohms because of how long the legs of the wire would have to be to make the correct contacts. Dropping to 28awg kanthal might get you a "usable" ohm rating but it'd take forever to heat up the coil because you'd also be heating up the ceramic, the base, the mouth piece, and the legs of the wick. Using NR and and kanthal wire focuses all the heat to the center where the air hole is located and will give you a great vape. Use either Pure Nickel 32awg or 0.999 Pure Silver dead soft round 30awg for your NR wire. The Pure Silver can be usually found from jewelry maker stores.

I have several 18350 batteries that show a full charge but when I try to use them, they wont power my mod. I have an old indulgence.
I have 18350's that work perfectly in it but then all of a sudden they don't power it. Could it be that over time the button has depressed a bit on the battery top? I cant see a difference between the batteries that work and the ones that dont ( looking at them) but maybe it is a small but deadly difference? I was thinking of trying a rare earth magnet but not sure if there is room. I have two different brands of batteries and have had the same problem with both. They show that they are fully charged, same charger and everything. Am I having a "duh" moment? Could a defective battery show a full charge?? And if so does anyone know what happens to themall of a sudden so they no longer work?? Thanks for any suggestions

thanks for your help. the mod is okay. I did have the problem with the batteries before this incidence so I will check the voltage.. I have several at home that dont work but today I had a stupid day. This time was truly a "duh" moment. I bought a pack of cartomizers that must be faulty because 4 out of 5 have died the first evening and the next morning. The one I was using was okay then suddenly burned out after about 30 minutes of use. I tried another one and that didn't work either, picked up a third and it happened to be dead too. I blamed the batts after having a problem with them before. I got out another mod and sure enough they were dead. I wasnt expected them to die so quickly. I usually use them for a long time and throw them out when they clog up. Rarely have I had them die on me and never so many. Thanks for advice on the batteries though. I do have some that show a charge but dont work so I will check them out.

Just checking, but have you made sure that the cartos are making contact with your device? Hate to see something thrown away!

jericoriver- there is a harbor freight by me. These are 18350's in a regular mod. No adjustable voltages. Should I look for 3.7? Sorry but I dont know much about using meters. I can figure it out if I know what to look for.. thanks for your help

Check out this video for help on using a meter on batts & attys/cartos:
