So I now have 3 Reo compatible rba's - Cyclone, eBaron, and and RM2. The cyclone is kicking the other two.

Not sure exactly why but I suspect the very long silica is part of it. The silica wraps around the posts and is at least 3-4 times the length of the RM2. I set it up with 32g kanthal and 2.5mm silica (came in at 1.5 ohms) and it is hitting as hard as a genesis with just as much flavor. Keeps blowing my mind. I can go 5-10 hits without squonking.

The eBaron is ok. I need to get the coil master and at this point I am still going at 2.0 ohms and I think it will be better with a lower ohm coil. It is large compared to the RM2 and the Cyclone.

The RM2 is probably in the middle. This actually surprises me given all the positive comments here so I may not have it setup right yet. I have had to re-coil it a couple times just to get it going right. The first coil started at 1.4 ohms when I set it up but shortly after using jumped up to 2.7 (???). I used 32g kanthal and 2.0mm silica with 4 wraps so it should not have been that high. The second coil kept giving me dry hits so I had to tweak it around so it would pull the liquid up better. I do have the coil aligned with the hole in the bottom. Now it is better but not as strong as the Cyclone. I have to squonk the RM2 every hit or two to keep it from giving me dry hits, I'd like to make the silica longer if I can figure out a way. I've done dozens of coils before without problems so I think it must be the way I have it setup. Still its a really good rba after tweaking.

I'm wanting another Cyclone really bad :vapor:.

I like mine too, I think it does better with silica or ceramic wicks. They seem to like to have their tails flooded to keep the coil wet. I think it has to do with where the juice comes in. On the Cyclone it's higher up on the post, when you let off the squonk it only sucks back to that level leaving quite a bit of juice it the atty. Try some rolled cotton in the RM2 and I think you'll see the difference. Cotton seems to like to be wetted but not flooded, the RM2 with the juice hole on the deck is ideal for it. It sucks back all juice not soaked up by the wick.

I completly forgot about the feed on the Cyclone being on the post, that must make a difference. I guess I will have to find some cotton for the RM2. In the past I have used yarn for cotton wicks with excellent results but it does mean rebuilding the coils more frequently.

having tried multiple forms of cotton, including some yarns; I must (indeed, I feel truly compelled to) mention that I find the sterile cotton balls/batting/business to be very different and far superior

Also, agree with unloaded, in that the sterile cotton and the RM2 are a fit like this (making gesture).

I'm having a hard time finding it, which is a surprise. There are no CVS's around here and the couple of drug stores I have tried don't carry it (they are small). I checked Target last night and they didn't have it. I just need to find one that does. Not many drug stores in the area.

Seems like the RM2 is working better now. After adjusting it is vaping much, much better. I just have to pay attention to the squonking, it goes dry pretty quick. I'm going to hunt down some cotton wick material this week and try it.

Hey, I have some of the CVS cotton, some organic cotton balls (Walgreens), some (several kinds) 100% cotton embroidery/crochet threads, some bamboo, and some hemp. If you'll PM me, I'll send you a care package. I'm going to the Post Office today, so let me know.....

Funny you should post this, I have a Cyclone on order that should arrive today or tomorrow :)

I hope it works out for me, I seem to be pretty picky when it comes to RBAs.
Didn't like the aluminum top cap of the hornet so I sold that before even using it.

Love-Love-Love the Chalice attys but only have two of them.

Had two RM2 attys couldn't get them working for me so I gifted them to a friend in need.
The RM2 atty has one serious flaw IMHO but I'm not going to bash it because its making a lot of people happy and thats what counts .... just file it as not for me.

I have a Killer 705 but thats pretty wonky and not worth the hassle IMO.

So hopefully the cyclone works out and I can pick up a few more .... I'd like to have 7-8 REOs going at a time :D

I just need an atty that I can throw 4 wraps of 30g around my silica and hit the road with no leaking.
So far the Chalice is the only one that fits the bill.

A generous offer indeed! I plan oh hitting Walgreens today - they are always my last resort (bad experiences with this store's staff). I'm think they will have it. Otherwise Wally's might.

At Walgreens, you can get the Studio 35 Beauty organic cotton balls....and they work exactly like the rolled cotton. I love them....no cottony taste at all. I actually like them better than the rolled cotton. I found them both in the beauty/make-up section and in the bandages section of the store.

Yep, exactly what I filched from my wife's stuff. Works great on the 3 RM2s I've got running. I grabbed 5 of the balls, enough to last quite a while. I.ve re-wicked 2 of them after a couple of weeks as they were finally looking grungy. No real problem at all. My silicon stuff has pretty much gone by the wayside.

 - I read this after I got back! I saw those but I was trying for the roll.

I got a surgical bandage at Walgreen. It has cotton in it just wrapped around a gauze of some kind. Cut it out and nice cotton inside :). They came in 8 packs - but they had them in single so I grabbed one to try for $1.17.

I also thought "You know, I'm sure I don't remember a CVS around here but I really should check". There are two in parts of town I don't go to more than once a year if that. One is next to the university campus and its crazy around there - I'm just a bit too old for that scene ;). I may have to go check it out at some point. It's summer and the campus is mostly empty, when there is a break cuts down our population by about 30,000 beer guzzling kids.
