Ok, since you're on my side I don't want to point out that that's a major contradiction

But that's a major contradiction

it is a contradiction... but it shows the difference between the start and becoming more "seasoned if you will"

i do believe if i hadn't run into the problems that i did... i would be analog free... sadly.. the problems are all too common.. every single one of us has or is going to run in to a problem with our gear and be unlucky enough to have that extra part at some point.. and that's where the glamour... dreaminess.. whatever you want to call it is gonna fade away like your exhaled vaper

i fully agree with you that the newbs are lying to themselves when they say they are fully analog free.. but us disillusioned vets need to give them the facts.. because they don't know they're lying... they really believe it to be true..

Hate cigarettes? I love cigarettes. For 50 years, they were my best friend. In good times and sorrowful times, in stress and celebration, marking moments to remember. Hate them? Try to find any photograph of a young Tropical Bob without his beloved cigarette.

But, in order to quit them in 2007, I had to find something to hate. And I found it:

Big tobacco. I hated the chemical manipulation they did to a fine plant in order to produce a product they knew would kill many who used it, yet thoroughly addict nearly all who used it. They lied to Congress. They lied to me. And you. And then, when they lost lawsuits brought by those grieving dead smokers, they just jacked up the product price addicts must pay to silence the screams in their brains every half hour. Did Big tobacco suffer monetary damages? Not a chance. Did you and I? Yes, and I hated them for it.

So each time a craving for a cigarette hits -- and it's multiple times every day for me -- I remind myself that I will never again enrich the lying killers incorporated as Big tobacco. And, because I use snus, it saddened me greatly that our giant killing corporations are now buying up the smokeless product makers. Please, Lord, keep them far, far away from e-smoking.

Well said TBob...I hate them as well.

There was a movie back in the late '90s about Big Tobacco. I think it was called 'The Insider' or some such thing. When I quit for 2 years I watched that and it would give me inspiration. They are truly evil.

Unfortunately I went back to cigarettes. It really is a strong addiction....sigh....

Thank *someone* for e-cigs. They are a miracle and a blessing.

Just look at Calaban's post, his first part says he's not lying about quitting since day one with an ecig

Then he says he quit for over 2yrs, fell off the wagon, and has been smoking since

Ok, I'm done posting on this thread, you either get what I say or you don't, perhaps the confusion is in regards to abstract thought versus concrete thought

Okay, I admit the day I tried Johnson Creek's "Kona Coffee" flavored juice, I thought If that was my first time trying an e-cig, I would have never jumped in with both feet.

And yes, if for some reason my equipment failed I would probably choke on analogs till I got replacements. Yes, I am an addict, In my mind I have not quit smoking. I have been paying attention to the posts on this forum, I have stocked up and I am hopefully prepared for my first atomizer death! (I have 5 back-ups, just in case)

I think it's pretty pompous and juvenile to assume that anyone is lying because you don't have the same results. You seem to be passing off your inability (or unwillingness) to make progress (should that be what you are trying to achieve) as an impossibility for others. I can't run a 6 minute mile, and don't want to. I guess anyone who says they can is lying.

That said, saying that one hasn't had a cigarette since starting vaping is not synonymous with 'fully analog free' if you mean the possibility of smoking one at any point in the future. However, using that definition, a large percentage of current non-smokers are not 'fully analog free' and are according to you, lying about being non-smokers. Who knows what might happen next week, next month, 5 years from now, etc.?

So... since you are still smoking cigarettes, is the air too thin for you up on that high horse?

Anyone who says I've had my electronic cig for a week and.....

Haven’t had an urge for an analog
It was sooo easy
I don't like the taste
I don't have any craving
Etc,
Etc,
Etc,

Is a liar....

Ok Pal. Now you've ...... me off. Who do you think you are? I responded politely to your first stupid offense (the one about people faking it), but this one I can't let go.

All the things you listed above...all the things you say people are lying about...they happened to me. Period. End of story. Who are you to say that it didn't happen that way. You are not in my head, you don't know me. Just because YOU didn't have the same experience doesn't mean nobody did. Is your ego really that big, Mr. Know It All?

It DID happen that way for me.

I DON'T have the urge for analogs.
It WAS soooo easy.
I did have 4 drags of an analog 3 days after I started e-smoking, and I DON'T like the taste.
I DON'T have ANY cravings for analogs.
ETC
ETC
ETC

Get off your high horse and stop insulting people for their achievements simply because YOU couldn't do it that way.
I am NOT lying. Period.

-Cal

PS - to EVERYONE else on this forum who has been so helpful and kind, I apologize in advance for this rant. I normally don't get involved in these kinds of immature discussions online, but this guy really boiled my blood.

obviously you have no clue to the definition or understanding of addiction...

mayhaps we could turn this towards some pros...

i believe the understanding of addiction is most definately covered under alcoholics anonymous's statement... "once an alcoholic... ALWAYS an alcoholic"... if we define smoking as an addiction..thusly it would be once a smoker ALWAYS a smoker....

to randomly come in and attack the peacemaker of the convo seems a bit high falutin horse riding to me... not the other way around

Okay, I really think that we, being smokers, understand the addiction aspect of smoking. If not, I worry about those who don't. I believe that the other 99% of us who understand it do not need to be insulted regarding their experiences as being a lie.

Yes, "once a smoker, always a smoker" That is why we have our happy little forum here, for support and information. I hope I didn't sound higher than you!
