I finally found a juice I like other than menthol - it's a dark coffee flavor with a touch of caramel and almond... not sweet at all, which I love. But everything I put it in gets ruined within minutes... tried it in cartos, Protank, and a 510 atomizer - starts off tasting great the first few hits, and then suddenly boom - burnt. What is the best :blink:way to deliver juice like this to the coil?

No one touching this huh? OK... darker juices will leave "unvaporizable" resins on the coil and in the wicking at a faster rate than lighter juices. Some can be real atomizer killers... and that looks like what you have. But I bet you know that, don'tcha. ;-)

I don't know if your issue is clogged up wicking, prventing juice from reaching the coil, or a gunked up coil. Have you figured that out yet? Tell me, have you contacted the juice maker... what are they using?

I would suggest Boge cartos with laser slots, or larger holes... or Ikenvape cartos. Another option is an RDA or RBA... At least you can rebuild wire and wick as needed.

The coffee flavors I've tried don't seem to like a lot of heat. If you have a VV mod, crank it down as low as possible while still producing vapor. Or try a slightly higher resistance 510 atty and don't hold the fire button down as long. I've used some dark coffee juice successfully on a rebuildable atty, but even that needs a quick wash and dry burn to cut down the gunk build-up.

The best coffee I've found in my own DIY, using TFA clear coffee flavoring. It takes the heat better and with much less build-up to burn.

Right - it is definitely the wicking. It's like it just isn't absorbed and 'moved' through properly. In the case of my Protank, I have checked the coil and it's perfectly clean. I re-wicked it with fresh cotton... again, three great hits, and then BURN. Same deal in cartos.

I would normally contact the manufacturer, but in this case I'm not going to bother because it's High Desert Vapes and they are terrible to their customers (story for another thread). Naturally I won't order from them anymore so I won't have this particular coffee juice in the future, but I figured this would be a good opportunity to learn about darker juices.

Trying to get some Ikenvape but it's a challenge! Mine are by Smok. No good? As for the RDA and RBA - soon I'll be able to test them. Hoping it's the answer. Thanks :)

OK I put my Protank on the Provari at 3.3 volts (after changing out to fresh wicks). No burnt taste yet but also not much flavor delivery. That's the trouble with Protank for me, even with hand rolled cotton wicks. You lose so much in the taste department.

Yes!!! That's my next adventure. Just ordered the nic liquid and read about how to distill my own coffee juice. What do you use for sweetener?

RDA one that you have easy time changing the wick
Gotcha - I have an RDA and an RBA on the way plus a lifetime supply of fresh sterile cotton, so hopefully that's the answer :) Can't wait to try!

Just use a dripping atomizer. Rinse it off when you are done and dry burn the coil.
Hi - thanks so much for this advice. My problem is that when I dry burn an atomizer, I ruin it every time. Can never get the burnt taste out afterward :(

What, you don't like their - Taste is subjective, maybe a friend would prefer it, You bought it -it's your problem attitude.....Even it the product is totally screwed up?
Been there, done that.............and I also no longer shop them. 50% off means nothing if something is WRONG!!
Don't get me wrong, they do have some great stuff and at reasonable prices..........but Service isn't one of them.:glare:

Sweetener?? never touch the stuff!! :) I use a 50/50 mix of VG PG which I find sweet enough.

I've never tried the Protank, I like the top coils better for flavor, vapor and heat. They have more of a learning curve, but with the proper wicking, voltage, coils, much better vape IMHO
