Hi all! Today is my official first day of vaping and will be a totally smoke free day.

I received my Halo G6 kit on Friday and burned up the rest of my nasty cigs yesterday morning.

I'm in love with the e-cigs and my only regret is NOT doing this sooner. I see a ton of information here and will peruse the threads.

Glad to be part of the vapin' family!

Happy Mother's Day!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have tried to quit cold turkey and about went insane during the process. The e-cigs are certainly the ticket and am in the process of getting family members to switch as well.

One thing that I'd like to ask about the charging process. Does it do any harm to leave the battery plugged in (charging) over night? Or, for that matter, leaving a spare battery plugged in during the day until ready to use?

Basically, can one OVER CHARGE a battery?

TIA

Congratz on quitting! I'm just over a week in and it is MUCH easier than cold turkey! You may get cravings and some other strange things happen, but they are not bad to get through and they pass quickly.

As for the charger question, it depends on what you have. They are all different. I'd really only worry about it, if you are using big batteries and a cheap charger. If you are using a USB type charger, you probably won't have to worry about having it go overnight. I wouldn't keep it on there for days, but it really shouldn't hurt anything. I used to rotate batteries every day, plugging in at night and unplugging in the morning.

Shouldn't mater, most batteries have internal protection against overcharging. It will probably decrease the life of the battery some, may cause some battery "memory" issues depending on type of battery. I wouldn't worry about it though. If you find your batteries are failing fast then change battery brand/type or charging technique.

Welcome to the ECF, and congrats on perhaps the best decision you could make! The first few days are the hardest, but they are doable! Just remember why you made the decision to switch over, and remember that you are not walking this path alone... there's a small army of us here on the ECF to back you up and help you along.

In regards to the batteries, they should be perfectly fine to charge overnight. Like others have said, the e-go and cig-a-like batteries have some form of built in protection to them.

Enjoy the beach! (I'm from the Tampa area originally, and I seriously miss that salty sea breeze, but the love of my life is here in Texas )

Welcome and Congrats ! I started with the Blu disposable (Classic Tobacco @ 24mg nicotine). After finding this amazing ecf forum and reading and learning from all the members here (still reading daily and for hours on end... LOL) I bought Joye ego twist type batteries, Vision vivi nova tanks and stayed with the Blu Classic Tobacco but their cartrigdes at 16 mg nicotine were too low so I kept smoking several cigs daily. I finally quit smoking completely when I switched to Halo's Tribecca juice and increased the nicotine to 24mg. I'm at 5 months smoke free and going to try to step down to 18 mg and see how it goes. Still stuck on three of the Halo juices. Love their menthols/mints (Kringles Curse and Sub Zero) and the Tribeca (RYA 4 type=caramel, vanilla and tobacco). Have not ventured out to try other vendors yet as I was focused on my goal of quitting and felt overwhelmed with all the choices in flavors, vendors, equipment and the new jargon of the e cig world. My daughter and husband tell me I look better than ever and I feel it. I wish you the very best and you are in the right place here on ECF ! I am enormously grateful to this forum as I truly believe it was (and is) a huge factor in my quitting cigs and staying smokefree.
