I am hoping that someone can give me advice on where to start. I have been reading and researching for the past couple of days on ecigs and am just totally confused by all the contradictory information from all the websites. I have been smoking full-strength menthol analogs now for 34 years at approximately 1.5 to 2 packs a day, sometimes more, and wish to put this habit to rest and start using an ecig. My problem is and what I am looking for is an ecig with a good, if not great, throat hit and a high volume of vapor. Have read that the Vapor King 510 is the way to go but then others disagree. Also, do you have any suggestions on the strength of the juice I should use. I don't want to start off too low and then start back on the analogs. Thank you for this great forum and am looking forward to hear everyone's response.

I like to make the comparison of e-cigarettes to the auto market. Think about it.. There are cars that perform similar in function but out perform another in a similar area ie: price, look, efficiency, quality, etc. I really think the only way to find what you truly want is to test them all out, kind of like test driving. Buy from places that offer money back guarantees so that you can return a product if you decide not to keep it.

As far as the 510 goes it is a very beginner friendly e-cig. I highly doubt you would be disappointed with it. For the most part, reviews of the 510 are positive. Of course there are negative reviews, but you will not find a single e-cig that does not have both positive and negative reviews. Everyone is unique with different needs, tastes, and desires.

E-liquid proves more frustrating at times than the actual e-cig because there is so much more variety of e-liquids than there are cig models. As with e-cigs, your e-liquid experience will be based on trial and error. I myself have ordered from countless vendors and continuously try new ones as they appear. If you want security, try shopping from the companies listed in the supplier section of the forums.

There is a lot of great information on these forums. I spent hours upon hours skimming through these hallowed halls before I found the e-cig and e-liquid I thought would be good to start with.

Anyhow, I wish you the best of luck with quitting your old of habit of analog smoking.

Cheers,

Nero

Joye510 is a lovely little thing - there is a bit of fiddling around involved with refilling your own carts tho - as long as you don't mind that (and you get the best juices in them that way) - then most PV companies sell one or their own version. I went with the genuine Joye 510 from cignot.com (in the uS) cos of the price and fast shipping :)
If youre going that route them buy some GOOD juices for refilling at the same time - places like tasty vapor/diyshack/myfreedom smoke - oh heck too many to name
Listed here ECF Approved Suppliers - E-Cigarette Forum
The pre filled cart stuff is ok - but the other stuff is just..better lol

I smoked Marlboro reds for 40 years. First I started with a Nipro. That was a mistake. Then after finding this forum and much reading I got a 510. I finally got off of cigarettes. The 510 produces vapor and throat hit. Of course they have their problems just like all ecigs. By problem I mean things like the atomizers stop producing, batteries going bad and learning how to keep your ecig produicing good.

It is a little frustating when these things happen. At first it was fun and a good hobby but now it is a chore.

After using the 510 you may as most people do is get a mod. ecig. These uses different batteries and produce higher volt. There are several you can choose from. This is really only a body of metal that holds the battery in it with a switch.Depending on what connection you order (I got the 510). You screw your atomizer into the mod. IMO this does produce more vapor but I don't feel it is that much better than a 510. The only real purpose of a mod is longer battery time. Of course mod are more expensive even though it is only a metal hollow tube with simple wiring to the switch and the connector. Some of these are as high as 150.00 and lower.

But you are looking for the best ecig so you will go ahead and order one. There are several good ones out their. Read the forum, watch all of the video and then decide. There is a poll to see what is the most popular ecig.

Since I smoked 2 1/2 packs a day I got 36 mg of eliquid and eventually stopped smoking.

Good luck.

i was at 1-1.5 packs a day. My research let me to the Spade, and i use the blue foam mod for the cartridges. Considering myself a heavy smoker, the spade definitely delivered. Great throat hit, vapor production, very happy with it. Just keep in mind... whatever you do end up with, don't expect it to replace analogs right away. There's a small learning curve to these. But once you get used to your device and know how to get the most out of it, you're good to go.

I would recommend starting with high strength since you are a heavy smoker. Maybe order a mix of strengths the first time around so you have an idea of what they do for you personally (better to be safe than sorry, and be left short with something that just doesn't do it for you).

As far as menthol flavor I can tell you what i use. Its a mix of 1/2 Cool Rush + 1/2 The Original both made by Liquid Xpress (i ordered mine from dietsmokes). Cool Rush is my first vaping experience with menthol flavor. I found Cool Rush on its own to be a bit overpowering and almost like breathing in listerine straight out of the bottle :p . . so i mixed it with The Original and it turned out to be a perfect blend (for me anyways).

Just another opinion here...And you know what they say about opinions...."everyones got one" ;)
The 510 is a good e-cig and a good place to "start", no doubt about it. But battery life is crap! It just is! Took me at least 3 batteries to get through a day even with the mega batteries. I quit smoking, after 30+ years, pack and a half to 2 packs a day, with the 510.
The "problem" is after you stop smoking you are going to start loving vapeing, at least most of us here do:w00t::thumbs:! Once that happened thats when the 510 left me wanting much more. I feel I got lucky and found that "much" more with only one more purchase....and that was the Janty eGo. I now go from 6am one day through early afternoon the next day with one battery!!!! The vapor and throat hit are superb and my e-juices taste the best they have ever tasted with this eGo!
Research it here on the forum yourself and see what everyone says about it and make your own decision but I think if you start with the eGo it could very well be the only e-cig you will ever want to buy!
And, as far as juice goes, I ended up with 36mg juice before I could put down the real cigs.
Like I said, just my opinion!;)

I started with the normal Cignot 510 on the advice of a friend. I have gotten really into the MOD thing, but I am a gadget junkie. My friend is still using the single 510 he got from cignot, and is about 3 months into it. In fact, I think he just said the other day he is still using all the original stuff, as in he has not had an atty or battery fail yet. I have popped a couple attys, but only on HV mods, not with normal 510 batts, so if you don't want to get into the mod thing it is not neccessary at all.

As to the diff of Cignot vs VK 510, I cannot say, I have no experience with Vapor King at all. I am pretty sure Cignot supplies genuine Joye stuff, and VK may as well, possibly rebranded, I am sure someone here can answer that for you.
