I had a pretty interesting conversation with some friends... If you had the chance to know not when you would die, but how you would die, would you take it?
Almost all said no, but one said yes. He said if it was specific enough, like if he knew he would be killed by an armed orangutan smoking a stogie instead of "heart failure", he could totally disregard fate and take a chance on living through ANYTHING. In other words, he could become a costumed superhero and really live that life, or do anything he ever wanted that would otherwise be fatal for him.
He said he would be able to jump in front of a car and still survive. I said sure, as a vegetable in a bed, deteriorating until some mad scientist creates intelligent simians and they burst into your hospital room with an AK and smoking a Macanudo.
