I don't spend tons of money. I got a couple twists, 2 Vivi Novas, 2 Stardusts and I have my back-up
cartridges and atomizers that I started with. I clean the cartridges, I've only tossed a couple of them.

As for the Vivi's and Stardusts - been using them constantly since I got them and they are all going strong.
Easy to clean, you can change the heads out on the Vivi's easily (although I've never had to yet, it comes with
2 extras) and I've saved a lot of money vs. smoking, and I was a roll-your-own kind of gal too.

The cravings will go down, I had them all the way up until about 6 weeks in, and then they went away, and
when they did come back, they were more of a "habit craving" than anything, and easy enough to ignore.

I don't spend on all the mods that some people do, I just buy what I need/like now. Mostly juice now, but since
I probably only vape about 2 mil a day, I don't have to spend a lot on that either. Keep going!!! You actually are
closer than you realize.

I did come across something that is not talked about too much in general or new member chats, Bottom feeders.
I agree, and I think if more people would give them a try, more people would switch to them.
There is nothing more hassle free than a good atomizer on a good bottom feeder.
:)

I used to use a Mini Reo for when I was out all day, and keep it loaded up with my favorite juice.
But I also brought one or two little 3ml bottles of other flavors.

If I ever felt the hankering for a different flavor, I could drip a couple of drops anytime I wanted.

I don't mean to start an argument but I will say what was advised to me. If your vaping and feel the need to smoke then smoke. As long as you make progress it's all worth it. To quote the many who have said this to me. "Don't count the ones you smoke, Count the ones you didn't smoke." Every one you don't light is a cause for celebration. If you need one then don't beat yourself up over it. As long as you try. That's all anyone can do. Good luck.

... then went a bit silly and bought every thing I could find, spent a fortune, got quite a lot of rubbish, was stalking the post man, on the web every five minutes and became completely obsessed with vaping....

 I resemble this remark.

More encouragement for you.

There is no reason to drop your old habit all at once. not all of us can do that. Thats OK.
Slow and steady but succeeding is much better than rushing into it and then going back to your old habits entirely.

I am on my second round of vaping. the first time was in 08 and the equipment and availability just wasnt there for me to stick with it.

i started back to vaping at the end of july. i was really excited and got myself down to 5 cigs a day. then I got sick and had a sinus infection for the last 2 months. Vaping just was not doing enough for me at the time. I stuck with it though and managed to keep my cig intake down to 10 per day. thats still HUGE because I had been a two pack per day smoker!

Now my sinus infection is clearing up and I am back to less than 10 a day. it might have taken some time but I am on my way to being smoke free.

Here is the deal - I smoked for over 30 years. I want to be smoke free immediately. but the time I invest in getting to the smoke free state is well worth my patience.

Money wise, you can save a lot of money if you use a vivi nova or other tank. no more carts to throw away. just keep them clean, replace the heads every now and again (one $3.00 head will out last a ton of carts).

as for nic - you might do better with a higher nic content. try a 24 mg. it might be the thing that works for you. I started with 24 mg and now I mix it up quite a bit. I am often down to 12 mg or even 6 when I am at home and can chain vape. but where my ability to vape is limited I use 24 mg. I can get a good hit that will last me a while.

dont worry about using too much nic. the more statsified you are the less juice you might actually use. for many people, once they get past the new user blues they find they naturally want less nic and start cutting back on the nic level without ever missing the higher nic content.

Take it all in stages and be kind to yourself. There is no race. Succeeding is much more important than "finishing first".

Dear Magic of Light,
Please don't go back to analogs. You are so close to leaving them behind forever.
Vaping doesn't have to be a hobby. Just find something simple that works for you and stick with it until the day you may want to say goodbye to all of this inhaling of vapor. You will save money but more importantly you just might live a more healthy life.
Good luck and I hope you live a long and healthy life!

Totally and completly agree. Just one day at a time. For me today has been extremly wonderful so far. I have exceded my expectations for what I set and it makes me feel good. Even if it just one day. I'll worry about tomorrow when it get here.

I went through the exact same thing. Worried about the money, tried to be militant about quitting, cravings kicked my .... Then I stopped worrying about it and smoked if I wanted to. The day I realized I was done with smokes I was sitting on the back porch having a smoke and thought to my self... "self I'd rather be vaping, this tastes like crap". I put that smoke out and havent looked back. I do have the occasional craving but I have found a way to deal with those. I have an old ashtray on the back porch, one sniff of that dank thing and the desire goes away.

Your body thinks it needs many of the thousands of chemicals in tobacco, your brain knows you don't. They will battle for some time. Remember, it gets easier.

Even if you got a Provari a phiniac tank with stainless ends, and bought 1 Iken Vape platnum per week paying shipping each week only vaped juice that is the higher end 20 for 30ml, You are still saving money. In the end its really up to you nobody can say a magic word to convince you you should stop smoking. If you want to you will vaping is a fairly painless way to quit.

I can relate to wanting to give up as well. It gets frustrating. I see several mentions of upping nic levels in this post and others as well. I was using 24mg when I started and was doing pretty good....cut back from 1 1/2 PAD to 1/2 PAD. Problem though was I was having problems sleeping. Waking up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep, night sweats, etc. Had a few days where my heart was racing for several hours after waking up. I have switched to 18 mg and have also been dealing with a cold/sinus infection and have gone back up to about 1 PAD. I am tempted to go back to 24 mg but don't want the problems with sleeping and the heart racing (that's pretty scary!). Any suggestions?

Im seriously having second thoughts about what i have gotten myself into. It seems that this is a big time money pit for me and im just getting started. So much research done and to do, so many reviews watched and to watch, so much equipment to buy and maintain, cant even take them out into the rain. I know its better for my health but ends up being more expensive than roll your own for me so I need a good reason other than my health why to remain a vaper. Please someone, help me.

Ok here is a rock solid build that I own and use as my daily vapor attached to my hip with a leather mag-lite holder. The Build comprises of a DID and precise+ 18650. Once you get the building of the wick and coil down pat, this is the cheapest I have ever gotten it to. My daily cost of vaping, since I make my own liquids, is down to $.30 a day. There is another reason to keep at vaping, the daily cost. Sure the startup cost is high for quality gear, but after that the daily is so much cheaper.

Not to mention the taste and smell factor. Vaping Rasberry Brulee or Blueberry Cheescake or PB Cups or any number of offerings out there is way better than the taste and aroma of "real" smokes. This applies to yourself an to the people around you. Your loved ones benefit as well from you vaping. They get to have you around so much longer. Personally I owe it to my loved ones to spend less money on a healthier and tastier form of nicotine delivery. Not to mention, to a geek like me, they are way cooler than the analogs.

That is my offering as to the why keep at it. Health, loved, ones, daily cost, and taste are the best reasons I could come up with off the top of my head. I hope I may have helped out a little bit.

MOL, keep it simple.

The startup is going to cost a little more than your analogs did, but that will quickly go away once you find your juice and hardware you like. For me, I'm not the kind of vaporer that will be chasing hardware, I just want to vape to get off analogs and have a time frame and a nicotine drop-down plan.

Set a few goals for yourself, and you will feel better about everything as you "check them off"......sense of accomplishment. :)

You can't go back to analogs. Just decide. There is no reason to get back on that train.

Many people are still using the starter kits they started out with a year later. If you don't want to spend a lot of $$, don't get caught up with the next greatest thing. Just find something that works for you.

What are you using? 2 Twists, a set of backup batteries (could be ego clones or something), a charger, and some juice, and decide if you want tanks/clearos or cartomizers. It can be as simple as that. Or you might want a bottom feeder or a mod for higher watt vaping than egos can give you.

And always have some disposables in a drawer somewhere!

After reading your post Id recommend buying the most expensive setup you can find.Like someone else noted you seem to be money motivated and worried about value. If you spend 250 on a Provari and nice tank you MIGHT be more inclined to stick it out at least until you recoup your investment and by then you might be home free :)

Keep a carto or tank on the countertop w/24mg and only "hit it" every so often when you need a boost.

Then, use a lower nic for chain-vaping or continuous vaping for your main vape all day.
