Here's my breakdown...
2 packs a day here of say marlboro lights which I smoked cost about $15 a day at about $7 a pack, or $450 per month, or $5,475 per year. That's only $50 less than I pay on the mortgage every month for my 11 acre place with a 3 bedroom house.
There is no way I am possibly going to spend $450 a month or $5,000 a year on vaping.
Just in one month I can blow $200 on equipment and another $200 on juice and still I saved $50 over what cigs cost me.
I could not spend $300 a month every month for a year on vaping gear and even use it all, much less $100 on juice every month for a year and vape it all.
My first year vaping I only spent $400 total for the year on it, that's $5,000 saved from a 2 pack a day habit, or $2,250 saved from a pack a day habit, that's a significant amount of now free money.
So any gear I decide to buy to me is cheap, dirt cheap compared to cigs. The way I look at it, the more months of vaping I do, the more money I save, and it's ridiculously easy to justify whatever vaping gear I might decide to buy cost wise, and I just think of it as a reward for staying off smoking and saving my health, and saving so much money.
As it is now my vaping averaged out over a year comes to about $1.50 a day, vs $15.00 a day for a 2 pack a day habit, so if I buy $500 worth of new gear to play with this year it only raises my daily cost for the year by $1.36 a day for the year.. I can quite happily live with that, but there isn't $500 worth of gear out there I even want to buy.
So I say go get all the gear you want, or better yet if your young, put all that savings into the bank over the next 20 years for retirement and retire early with a fat bank account in 20 years.
