Anyway, those are my only two options. At least Verizon doesn't make appointments with me for several days later, call the next day to confirm it and, when I'm not there (on a day I wasn't supposed to be there), cancel the appointment. Or make me wait for a week for a technician who says "the website where I can test the signal is down today and it's working fine. Goodbye." Then, 10 minutes later, when my modem went out again, I called to be told that the technician can't change it unless he sees it not working but I can take the modem to their service center and get a new one anytime. I spent a week with a modem that was dying of old age and waiting all day for the tech, and I could just bring it in? They're 7 blocks from me!
I just caught up on Breaking Bad. I've always been caught up on Dexter, just can't get enough of it, but I dropped off on Breaking Bad two seasons ago. Now I'm back up to speed and boy did it get heavy.
No I'm debating if I should play a game of Civilization V or not. Such a fun game but man does it take forever to dominate the world.
Maybe I'll make a religion called Deejstuff and have the fire kitty spread it to all the other countries in the game.
You can do a speed test on a web site. I think it is speedtest.net. It can give you a rough estimate by pinging a server.

I just now realized that all those packages I sent out today won't arrive at their destinations until Monday at the earliest.

They tried to pull something similar on me. The building I live in the front 1/2 is a bar and th back half is split into 4 apartments. So when the guy came to hook up the FiOS he wanted to put the box in a "common area" so that others in the building could be hooked up as well.
I explained how the owner / landlord was not around and that I couldn't give him access or authorization to drill holes and mount equipment anywhere but my appartment.
Eventually he gave in and put the entire setup in my apartment.
