There are 3 of us? This is clearly the "October 6" thread.
Happy birthday. My sister sent me great chocolate covered strawberries. Want some?

I just know that I'm 4 years older than Deej so, if he's 22, I'm 26.

BTW, next year won't bother me. It's just those nasty ones that end in zero. As a friend of mine once said re the 0s and 5s, "I don't mind getting older, I mind being in a new demographic break." We were both in market research and age groups on surveys always start with 0 or 5 and end with 9 or 4 (with the exception of 18.)

This is most definetly the October 6 thread! Lol!
I didn't know there were 3 of us until today either. That's just plain awesome!
Why thank you! I will have one. Thanks for sharing :D

This year isn't too bad for me I guess. Last year was the one with the 0 on the end. I wasn't sad about it but I wasn't exactly jumping up & down either. Lol

... Does wick thickness matter?

Yes depending on the device. Not so much for things like those "octopus type" atomizers since they use multiple wicks anyway wrapped in a single coil. Wouldn't really matter for most rebuildable dripper types either. I'm thinking with those, the more surface area touching juice the better.

Where it would really matter would be if you were rebuilding heads like evods or something. Since the wick has to pretty much fill the wick hole to function properly. For evods I've heard that 3mm works just fine, some people squeeze in 2 strands of 2mm. I've also seen where they'd use 2mm and a couple strands from some untwisted wick.

I've seen a few other RBA's where the wick is sort of conatined in a housing once assembled and only the ends come in contact with the juice. I'd assume that's another situation where the wick hole would have to be filled, but I have no idea what size it would take until mine get here.

Sorry I can't be more helpful without knowing the specific atomizer type involved.

Guess I'm going to have to follow you around Poeia ... I want the answer to that too!

It's very hard to find the basics:
How to pick wire thickness (found), type of wire, type of wick and wick thickness
How many times to wrap around the wick and why (does the # of wraps affect the voltage)
What can touch what (e.g. can the wire touch itself?)

Instead, all I can find is:
Here I am folding the wick.
Here I am wrapping the wick around my finger to make folds.
Here I am wrapping the coil around the wick.
Here I am wrapping the coil around a nail first.
Here I am making a 3-4 coil for this type of RDA.
Here I am making a 4-3 coil for that type of RDA.
Here I am installing it by tapping the wick strands in.
Here I am installing it by pushing the wick strands up.

The most helpful ones I've found so far are tutorials from Todd ecigreviews
I have finally grasped the entirely counter-intuitive fact that "higher gauge = thinner = higher resistance." (It's like needles for which higher numbers are also smaller.)

And tomcatt has a good summary of types of cotton wicks.
MyWikkaSite: Cotton Wick Wiki
I sent him a PM about width and why is presumably bleached "white" bamboo thread better than "natural" bamboo which doesn't sound bleached but I don't know how much he's around now that he's not a mod.

So, as I am getting RDAs, size doesn't matter (or wick thickness.)

I'm getting an igo-L and a Scar (thanks Chim and Trav.)
I want to make the highest resistance coil possible.

You may be too young for this, but it's such a good spirited song it reminds me of you!

Apparently, .... Van ....'s accent in that movie makes British people nuts. The ultimate example of American obliviousness or something. People still mention it on British talk shows and every reacts. (HL said it was practically a declaration of war.)

But his dancing was sublime.
