Mine worked brilliantly at first. I got about 40 HDTV channels. But the canyons of NYC got to it. I still get the basic broadcast channels beautifully. People I've recommended it to who don't live surrounded by skyscrapers are blown away by the number of channels they get with great reception. (I'm thinking of upgrading to the newer, stronger version.)

You should also check out Solid Signal's Blade. I read some independent comparisons last year and it performed better than the Leaf.

One of the prong-things that holds up my vertical blinds is damaged. That blind keeps falling. So I strung some orthodontic wire (super spring 0.014") through to twist it closed. But I couldn't twist it tight. I called the orthodontist for ideas. He suggested heating the wire first to kill the springiness. Instead I used some 30 gauge Kantal — which isn't springy and which I have in my apartment for some unknown reason. Worked like a dream.

As soon as I released the end of the wire about a quarter of the 100 foot spool unwound. Rewound it and put one of those spiral wrist key ring coils around the outside. Perfect. I even happened to have one in black so it looks like it was designed to be there.
