So... I spent a goodly amount of time trying to create a cable that would work. In this, I was successful. I never knew all that arcane knowledge about serial communications would still come in handy.

Did you have to crossover the RX & TX (snd / rcv)?

Another few hours were spent trying to figure out why the pump kept loosing its calibration. Found it... it was a silly little thing...

Not gonna ask...

So... I guess the bottom line is this: deejStuff is set to EXPLODE in 2014.

Hang onto your hats, people!

I had the impression there was already some exploding going on.

My mental jury is still out on the "Aspires". Anyone else have any experience with them?

Did you have to crossover the RX & TX (snd / rcv)?

yep. also had to run a separate ground wire so the PC and the pump would float at the same voltage level... that was what took up the most time... realizing that there was not continuity from the pump's ground to the PC's ground. Once I slapped that wire one, things started talking.
