Oh noes! The 4 Kitties of the 'Pocalypse! Runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

Good morning, Trav!

That sort of surprises me about not being able to tell you what the PG/VG ratio was... unless they were concerned about what the flavor-loading does to the ratio.

My mix calculations treat the flavor as if it's PG, since the huge majority of my flavorings use PG as the base. That's why I don't have a 100% VG option... I can never get to 100% in a flavored liquid. I tried... believe me, I tried. Tibby can bear witness to that!

well it turns out that anything over 65% VG gives me chest pains/chest tightness...which was triggering my panic attacks!!! So I've been vaping the only 50/50 blend that I had on hand....seems to be doing ok :)

Going to try to sell all or at least most of my juice that I can no longer use before I order any though...so don't think I've moved on :)

One place I asked about the ratio would only tell me "depends on the flavor" and that the bakery types had less VG than the fruits.

I'm generally lazy when it comes to things I can buy "pre-done" with what I consider a small convenience fee. So I'm not really in a position where I'd be doing a lot of DiY juices.

Then there's always the variety factor. If I were to DiY all of my own juice, I'm sure I'd have only a couple flavors in rotation at a time rather than the 5,6,7, I usually do.

In other words, I'm not out looking to steal anyone's top secret family recipe. Just want to be aware of whether or not I should expect a reaction, and to know that what I'm getting will work well with the gear I buy.

There are a few high PG juices I still use, only because I can't get them any other way. But I'm aware of the content and limit their participation in my rotation. When buying my cartos, I get some with less holes punched just for those juices. I find a 3 hole punch works great for 50/50 and higher, but I buy single hole cartos for anything 70/30 or less VG.

Happy to see Buddy's getting settled into a permanent home! And yeah, 50/50 seems to be the "sweet spot" for me as well. With a triple punched 2ohm dual coil tank carto on my VV grippers, Kicked bolt, or Provari set at about 4.5v and it's flavor city. At least with Deej's 125% flavor juices.

For my Ego twists I get 1.5-1.7ohm dual coils since the 2ohm ones tend to need just a little more oomph than the twists can provide. If they were single coil, the twists would be fine, but dual needs more current and I find the duals give much more flavor.

So basically the ohms are determined by the (power of) device I use them on and the number of punches are determined by the thickness of the juice.

More and more vendors are offering some variety in or at least listing the number of holes in their cartos now.

So... issue resolved? :)

I have the ability to break down the components (to a gross level) in any given bottle. Something like:

100mg/ml PG based nic: 0.4ml (8.00%)
100mg/ml VG based nic: 0.0ml (0.00%)
PG: 2.3ml (45.75%)
VG: 1.0ml (20.00%)
Flavoring: 1.3ml (26.25%)

The problem is.... where to put those numbers. The bottle label is pretty crowded as it is...

seems that way Deej....I'm not going to go crazy on flavors for a while...I will most likely pick up my LMP after I sell some of my juice so I have money to buy new. But I"m going to only use one flavor a day for awhile so if something acts up again...I can know which juice it is :)

That's a good plan! :)

I'm very happy that we get to keep you around, too!

Not giving the PG/VG ratio is ridiculous. A lot of the preferences people have about that are based on health issues and that info would not enable anyone to copy a flavor. Why not say that they can't tell you the nicotine load as well?

The specific flavors used is something else. I know what Deej uses to get the peppermint flavor into the peppermint taffy. He uses a peppermint flavoring that does not contain peppermint oil (making it clearomizer-friendly.) I do NOT know how he gets the taffy flavor in. That's the proprietary stuff. No other vendor has it and telling them it's combination of hazelnut, coconut and pineapple would enable them to experiment with the right flavors until they got the ratios right.

And mouse type is so informative.

How about a second page of the receipt? It could contain all of the info on the plastic bags plus something like:

Nicotine source: Xtreme Vaping LLC, PG-based, 100mg, mixed down to the custom level ordered.
PG source:
VG source:
Flavor sources: Capella, Flavour Art, The Perfumer's Apprentice
No flavors known to contain the following are ever included in deejStuff eLiquid: Acetoin, Acetyl Propionyl, Diacetyl

Frankly one of the reasons (besides the yumminess) that I like Deej as one of my few juice suppliers is the transparency and accommodations (ok, and kitties  ).

Personally, if I approached a juice vendor who refused to give me such pertinent information such as PG/VG blend, I would immediately turn away. Since juice is a consumable, I see it the same as food; if I couldn't get ingredients and/or nutrition info from a food vendor, I would turn away from that vendor as well (and perhaps report them to some agency, if I was so inclined). :D

So thanks Deej, for being an awesomest juice kitty! :vapor:

hmmm... that's gonna take some coding. Right now the only way I could do that is to hand-type it for each order.

Also, the Waffles! line does contain a trace of acetyl propionyl, which is why there's that warning about it. I did just find waffle flavoring that doesn't have it, so I'll be switching over shortly.

If it's on it's own page (the receipt is pretty full already), you could have a stack of them printed out and just add it when you print out the receipt or print it on unlined index cards that go into the envelope with the receipts, pens & business cards.

You could add space, make big, pretty type, any generic info (e.g. Waffle flavorings mixed prior to 11/25/12 contain a trace of …)

Anyway, it's just a thought. After all, they can't expect people to put all that info on the actual bottles unless they are also going to require that members only sell 60ml or larger.

Random thoughts... I need to get to the Mixorium...

I don't think the standard goes that far... unless I misread it, the bag-label and the bottle-label combine to meet or exceed the standard.

I'm not opposed at all to adding another insert listing the ingredient sources and stuff...

I could work up a 4x6 index card printout, I suppose... or even a 3x5 if all I'm putting on it is generic stuff.

But... now I've got a question... is this something you'd like me to do? Or is this something more along the lines of, "See how cool I am? I'm giving you more info than anybody else!" Either way is fine... it just prioritizes the effort for me. :)
