I've been wondering that, too. Thanks for the info! It does all make sense now.

I'm wondering how it is that I didn't know what a clowder is. I wake up covered by one every morning. This is *part* of our clowder:

We have 3 more who aren't pictured--but they do pile on when the electric blanket is on in the winter!

Those are some cute kitties you got there Lisa. I bet they are a clowder of little trouble makers.![]()
Thanks, and yes they are! They roam in a pack and they get into everything--they climb curtains, they unroll and shred toilet paper and bring it all over the house, they bring things in--I think they steal stuff from the neighbors. They've brought home half a piece of pizza, a chicken wing, chewed up instruction manuals for products we don't own, a Starbucks cup, in addition to formerly-alive little creatures, and they seem to have more cat toys than they used to. I'm wondering if they are stealing those from neighbor cats, too. But they are so sweet, that we have to forgive them for the mess!

I work at Wild Birds Unlimited, so I know some of the collectives for birds. Like a murder of crows, a gaggle of geese, a parliament of owls, a flight of swallows, a tiding of magpies, a charm of finches, etc. But I had no idea about a clowder of cats. Looking at that picture it does make sense though.![]()
Also a glaring or a pounce of cats.
I like the magpies one.
Hi, bird person. I have a yellow collar macaw and a mitred conure. Based on my personal experience, I believe it is "an ear-shattering of parrots."
