Started watching the radar when I use to walk the puppy dog. Sometimes it involved doing a lot of plotting to hit a gap in storms.

I started when i moved in my current house. I am a horror movie lover and i had a big ole tree out front reminded me of the one in poltergeist. It creeped me out in storms. It had a big ole knot that looked like a face during thunderstorms plus it was so old i was worried it would come toppling over on my house. When we hit a red cell i would make sure me n my kids was in basement just in case :)

I use to take the kids down to the basement too. I'm glad you do!!

In this house we don't have a basement so we all scramble to the save zone.

The house i am in is over 100 yrs old so i worry more :). I have a whole setup. The basement i have is unfinished and leaks but i have a plastic outdoor table and some chairs and i have a stereo that has a small screen to play dvd's they sit and watch movies while i follow the outdoors. Another reason i follow is the siren is less than 2 blocks from my house but unless windows r open and everyone is quiet i cannot hear it :(

They have it setup here that when a tornado is spotted, we get a phone call. :)

The house was built onto an old service garage. The walls to it are all concrete. It was so big that part of it was used for a family room and that is where we go. We got all the comforts of home in there.
Furniture
Internet access
TV
Stereo
Little refrig

We also have one of those battery radeo's that you hand crank.

The worst thing was our old phone number. The last four digits was the same as a nearby larger school and we use to get calls for them all the time.

Use to wake me up all the time. :grr:

They call me over every meeting they are going to have and they seem to have alot of them plus any thing actually pertaining to whats going on in the schools themselves. They definitely get their moneys worth outta it :)
