the hype is the worst...they ramp up reporting to make people anxious and tuned in. I tend to try to follow the radar rather than the hysterical reports from some of our weather people.
Me 3That makes two of us!
Me 3
I follow the NOAA site and the map on weather.com to see and follow the real deal![]()
Started watching the radar when I use to walk the puppy dog. Sometimes it involved doing a lot of plotting to hit a gap in storms.
I use to take the kids down to the basement too. I'm glad you do!!
In this house we don't have a basement so we all scramble to the save zone.
They have it setup here that when a tornado is spotted, we get a phone call.
The house was built onto an old service garage. The walls to it are all concrete. It was so big that part of it was used for a family room and that is where we go. We got all the comforts of home in there.
Furniture
Internet access
TV
Stereo
Little refrig
We also have one of those battery radeo's that you hand crank.

Oh the good ole days when the kids were in school..............so DON"T miss having to deal with the schools!!
The worst thing was our old phone number. The last four digits was the same as a nearby larger school and we use to get calls for them all the time.
Use to wake me up all the time.![]()
