Not sure which of the old Snickerdoodles I got a while back, but you can bury it outback with the cat as far as I'm concerned.
Whatever you do, definitely distinguish the new and improved one somehow (so I can try it).
Not sure who's flavoring it was but it started out all well and good, but the flavor just didn't stop developing at that point. It seemd to keep on going morphing into something else. Eventually it ended up at "rotting insole of a well used Chuck Connor's Converse All Star sneaker".
Not sure if I know what I'm talking about but it seems some mixers use what I would call a "stop flavor". For example I've had Gooey Buttercake from a couple different vendors and it seemed there was some sort of pepper or clove used as a "stop flavor" in all of them. Pre-steeped it was soemtimes over powering and never seemed like it was gonna taste like it should. But once steeped the "stop flavor" was hardly noticeable at all.
What would happen is the main flavor "gooey butter?" would build and develop then the "stop flavor" would kick in and kill it before it could roll over or morph into something else or just become too much of it's own flavor where it becomes cloying.
I've had a few from Deej and many from other vendors where I've said to myself "if the flavor would just 'stop' at this point, it would be great". But it continues on into something else, sometimes something nasty.
Disclaimer: Of course there are MANY flavors that Deej makes that are done perfectly and I just can't live without. It's what keeps me around always coming back for more!
