Kids have always done stupid things. It's just that now it goes viral. And, now the idiots who overreact and 'worry' that ALL kids might do those things get lots of media attention. As a Brit I'm definitely not going to get into the rights and wrongs of your gun laws .
We have some of the tightest controls anywhere , brought in on the back of a couple of notorious mass shootings .
London has a higher murder rate than New York .
In our cities the only people with guns are police and criminals.
In rural areas there are thousands of shotguns and rifles yet gun crime is rare.
Make of that what you will.
a gun on it's own, is damn near harmless.
a gun that has been manipulated, a round is chambered and gun left alone, that gun is still damn near harmless.
a pencil on its own is damn near harmless ... a pencil that has been manipulated with the INTENT to do harm, stab someone.... that pencil has now either become a WEAPON of defense or a WEAPON offensive. either way, that pencil has now become a WEAPON. once you put that pencil down and leave it alone, it is now damn near harmless.
people are the volatile factor, not the items.
