Hi ECF,
I'm a first time vaper and just got my ProVari the other day, the device works as described, all of the features seem to work properly too except I noticed two things keep happening and I don't know if this is how all ProVari's function or whether I was just unlucky and got a defective one.
First thing concerning me is that sometimes when I press the button, hold it down and start to vape, 3-4 seconds later the screen comes on to the 'Power Up' option. This is not really a big deal, I just wait for the screen to shut off and continue to vape. The other thing is what really bothers me, about 50% of the time when I press the button the device does not fire and I am sucking on it like an idiot for 4-5 seconds before I realize it's not atomizing any juice. When this happens I let go of the button, press it again and it usually starts to work but sometimes it even takes as much as 3 attempts to get the device going.
I thought at first that this is probably one of the protection mechanisms that make this device so great but then after reading the ProVape website I realize it can't be none of those as the 16 second cutoff only activates when the button is held down continuously for 16 seconds or more, I never vape for longer then 4-5 seconds at a time. The "Amperage Limiting to 2.5 amps" and "Thermal Monitoring" also cant be the problem as neither of the error messages are displayed during the incidents.
That being said I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing/experienced some of these issues with the ProVari or if this is simply how all of them operate and I am just over reacting. Thanks in advance for your help and thank you for the great community I am glad to be apart of.
Edit: I forgot to add, the threading where you screw on the atty seems to have 1 big cut or scratch right down almost all of the threading, is this a manufacturer's defect or do many ProVari's come like this? It's not giving me any problems in terms of holding the atty in place but I am seriously beginning to think that I have received a refurbished device for the price of a new one.. There are also hair line chips and scratches around the upper cap where the atty screws on.
