I believe the Iclear 30s uses a silica wick within the head, so the taste may clear up after half a tank or so. I would normally suggest a hot water rinse and a follow up technique called a dry burn, but as it's enclosed, I'm not sure that's possible. Hopefully another Iclear 30s user will chime in. You can search dry burn here on ECf or on Youtube if you want to learn more about it, as it takes some practice to do consistently. If you can dry burn it, once the smoke stops coming off the coil, give it a good rinse and your head will be as good as possible.

If possible, you may want to try your topper on a different device if there's a local vape shop. I believe the MVP uses better power regulation, and even an Ego spinner could help you isolate if it's your Iclear or the Istick. Those Iclear heads are pretty expensive, so it might be worth your time to isolate the problem before spending much on more heads or a mini Nautilus. In my experience, the choppy power delivered on some regulated devices, a low frequency variety of what is called pulse width modulation, can make a good coil taste harsh.

I found that certain flavors would gunk up my iclear30s faster than others. Basically the darker it was, the more often I had to replace them. I just rinsed under hot water for a little while, but after about 3 times of that, they needed something more. Soaked in vodka. Cleaned the coil right up. Haven't had to throw one away yet. Lol

When I was using stock heads, it was unusual for me to get a week out of a head and that was with constant washing and dry burning. Without dry burning and cleaning, 2 or 3 days was max vape time before bad taste.

If you are using coil heads that are lower than 2 ohms, you will always be vaping at 4.2v when the iStick is fully charged and getting hot vapes. As the battery dwindles in voltage it will get better. The iStick has no buck circuit, so you can't dial in a voltage that's less than the present battery voltage.

The fix for you would be to buy 2 ohm or 2.5 ohm coil heads. 1.5 will always be hot unless you only charge the iStick to the halfway point. 1.5 ohms at 4.2v is almost 12 watts. 2 ohms at 4.2 ohms is almost 9 watts. If you can't keep the wick saturated, that could be a hot burnt vape.

Primer puffs will help. Higher resistance is the fix. 3 ohms would give you about 6 watts on a full charge. From there, you could dial it up as the battery loses charge.
