RDA Derringer RDA Issue

I recently bought a Derringer rda and I'm having issues with it not screwing all the way down my paragon mod. I have a at leat an 1/8 of a gap. Here is a picture. I've tried adjusting the bottom screw. What could be the issue? gap.

I'm not familiar with the Paragon mod but I'm assuming you have adjusted the positive pin screw down on the mod already? I have a problem with flush mounting some of my mods with the Hobo v2 due to it's very long positive pin.

I've compared the pins to my mutation x , and both my orchids. And they are the same.

Are the threads on the pin cut deep enough to thread into the mod the whole way? If so, check for any imperfections in the threads or gunk in the mod/atties threads.

Have you tried it on other mods? One of my Derringer clones wont screw down 100% on the iStick 50 or my celtic... but it will on all my other box mods and my 4 (remaining for now lol) mechs. I compared it to my authentic and other cloned Derringer and the entire pin length is longer than the others and the threading is more situated at the end of the pin only.

Edit: Just saw your pic... that's a LOT of gap... mine is only a mm or so on the mods it doesnt stick up THAT far.

Took it to a local vape shop they fitted on other mechs. Same issue. They won't fix it because it was purchased outside their shop, which is understandable. It fits perfectly on my ipv2s since it adjusts by itself when threading. I will have to inspect the 2mmx.04 thread to see if it's threaded right.

I have a similar issue with my Paragon Clone. I think it's suppose to be a floating pin, but it's too tight in the delrin to come out. I saw a video that said to 'tap' it out using a hex key and a hammer, then file down the delrin slightly so that the pin will actually move to accommodate a longer connection. I haven't tried it yet though. My Paragon fits that way with all of my attys.

If ya can't get it to fit properly, maybe you could use something like this.

It's a delrin washer/spacer, this one came with my Pollox atty.

Not sure. I got that one with an atty. But, you could probably make your own. We have made knife handle spacer with plastic pieces cut from a bleach bottle. Maybe find a sheet of delrin or plastic and DIY a washer

I have polycarbonate sheets at work. I will have to make one and spray it black. Thanks for the idea.

One of the two derringer clones I have, had threads that were cut a bit off and would not screw down all the way. If you have 7mmX.5mm die you could chase the threads and clean them up. I used an old stainless steel female 510 I had laying around and worked the threads a bit with that. Now it screws on and off fine.

another option would be to see if you can find a hybrid cap for your mod. could solve your problem and also gain you some more conductivity as a bonus. i believe the paragon threading is m20x1. in my experience, hybrid setups typically benefit from an atty with a longer 510, due to the length necessary to protrude from the hybrid top-cap/disk. so you can turn your problem into a benefit with the right equipment. hopefully a m20x1 hybrid connector exists, and i think theres a good chance it does becasue lots of mods use m20x1. the paps line, gus', sigelei 8, 13, and 19, the jm22, the surfrider, many others. heres a pretty comprehensive list.

after reading that list, i remembered that the surfrider has a hybrid cap. and lo and behold someone in the FT surfrider discussions links a m20x1 hybrid cap 3-pack. so as long as your paragon is indeed m20x1, you ought to be good to go with this.
