they said 2 batteries where found, most likely a stacked mod, which pretty much everyone suspected in the first place, I don't see a 510 or eGo or 808 going bam like that.

May have been a triple stacked mod - "what have we learned here?” says Dan Henry. “Not only was the device not an electronic cigarette, but we are now receiving information that it was a triple stack battery Mod! This should raise awareness on the dangers of modifying electronics that you put in your mouth! Electronic Cigarettes have a flawless record of safety and it’s important to recognize that this incident is not a representation of the safety of electronic cigarettes. It should also be a wakeup call to those that like to tinker with such devices that can cause injury.”

I was reading another article that was speculating that he was using a triple stacked type of mod. Thinking this speculation was based on the type of batteries found.

If you read the story, they do say it was a triple stacked mod. In fact, they are calling any mod a 'cigar', and knocking all mods. Apparently, only their e-cigarettes are safe!

This article is insulting at best.

This article was actually created by an e-cigarette vendor who likened all mods to crafty works of people who make them in garages. The vendor continuously referred to vaping as "smoking" and states that only their kits and devices are 100% safe. This story is absolute garbage. The writer of the article was interviewed by Dimitris Agrafiotis of VP Live Vape Team aka The Vaping Greek.

...the hell kind of article was that? And who are these quotes coming from? The whole lot is a pile of ridiculously ignorant tosh.

"This indicates that the device is clearly an Electric Cigar, which is much different than an electronic cigarette. The news media is not clarifying the difference between the two."

Well, clearly this is mystifying a lot of people. See, in one instance, a battery powers a secondary section that contains a heating element and liquid to produce vapor, while the other has a batter than power a secondary section that contains ... oh. Right. Never mind, then. Oh! Wait, electronic cigars are bigger. There's your problem right there. Bigger.

This information suggests the device he was using may have been a "Mod”, a device that has been intentionally modified by a third party company and outside the specs of industry standard safety and quality control.

Ahh, so this electronic cigarette has been modified to become an electronic cigar, is that what I'm to understand here?

Mod’s are add-ons to existing devices and can result in fire or explosions, and are notorious for doing so.

Okay, so ... it wasn't turned into an electronic cigar precisely, it was just a bolt-on then that had the original E-cig inside or otherwise attached to it? Is that it? And this Voltron-like attachment is prone to bursting into flames and/or exploding? Good to know. But I'm still docking you two points for apostrophe abuse.

"First of all, the major electronic cigarette companies like V2 and Green Smoke, do not make electronic cigars. Most electronic cigars are made by foreign companies or diverse manufacturers that are not recognized in the electronic cigarette industry," says Dan Henry.

In other news, officials declared that China is no longer a foreign country, so V2 and Green Smoke can now say their KR808s are 100% domestic product!

What a load of crap. Seriously, if I didn't know better, I'd swear this article was just a plug for some E-cigarette company or a
