Did Clone Genesis style wick help.

Just purchased a Did Clone genesis style. Very nice work on the device, came with ss mesh but I'm going to run with cotton. Now I have already been coil/rewicking my vivi nova's with cotton and got that down. Using the same method of cotton/coil building for my did clone does not do well.

Anyone want to give me some tips while I try working the problem out? Pics would help too

The whole purpose of the genesis was to avoid using cotton or silica,try a few wicks using just ss. It may take a few tries but you'll get it.

Well I don't have a torch at the moment, and I seen a couple other people using cotton in their did clones so I thought I would give it a go. I imagine I need to buy a torch soon.

Yeah you DEFINITELY want to give SS mesh a shot. It's by far the greatest benefit to using a genesis style rebuildable!

Well I found a torch lighter I had with the electric start broken so I used a bic and filled to fire her up. I used the rolling paper method which I say leaves room when it burns off. Besides the point, I think I may really like stainless even tho I still like cotton when it's done right. Even with a half way decent job ss mesh tastes wonderful.

Do you have a gas grill with a side burner? That's what I used to oxidize one wick, works REAL good lol.

My gas stove at home works real well....but you have to use a stove that produces blue flames. Gas grill with a side burner will work well too.

Yeah since my coils were too loose I rewrapped them without using a rolling paper and it shorts. Too much space with paper with no short, nice wrap without paper - short. I have a conundrum here.

OK i got a DID from Mountain Oak vapor and i am having problems getting it to vape alot i am useing it on a home built Fixed 5 volt mod i am not sure if this is the major problem or not but right now i am running 3 raps and still cant get it to puff like a train i am also having hot spots at the top of the coils i have oxy the wick a few times and did the juice burns but i still cant get it to work good is the any one out there with some other tips and tricks

have to make sure the last coil is tight and close to the post, i have this sometimes and usually puching the wick away from the post with a paper clip to tighten it up helps sometimes, that and moving the coils up or down and make them evenly spaced, my first few i set up my reg equipment and just furked with it, poking and prodding till i finally got it., once i did i almost fell out from the nic rush and massive clouds.

Try and make sure you rap the top coil opposite direction of your coils keeping it within a mil or 2 from centre post.

Fire it up at low voltage if you can no big deal and gently move the coils also rotate the mesh as the coils can short on the seam
