The day I got my EVO I stopped...It took about 5 inhales to hook me....Don't get me wrong tho there were about 2 seperate times when I was out drinking and my batteries died. I took a drag off a cigarette and basically wanted to vomit....So yeah fool me once, fool me twice the third time you can go ..... off!

Since I received my 510 and really started getting into it, I think I've had a total of 5 or 6 real smokes in...8 weeks time? Before that I was doing maybe 3/4 of a pack every day.

Unlike most vapors (from what i can tell anyways), I don't find smoking analogs gross, and I don't stop myself from having a real one if a friend offers, but otherwise I don't even think about it anymore.

I will say that going out drinking is a little rough, Vapeing doesn't do it for me when I'm out at a bar, but that's still a hell of a lot better then what i used to do.

I overlapped ecigs and analogs for about a week, then quit analogs (about a month ago). The first day I was smoking my regular dose of analogs and throwing in the ecig for good measure. Damn, I've never been that nic-high in my life, and hope never to be again - not a good feeling. ODing on nic, who woulda thunk it? Anyway, there is a little bit of a learning curve (not bad, though), and you have to learn to trust the equipment. Once I got past that, it's been smooth sailing for me. Good luck.

I will add one thing. Several have posted about it being harder to stay off the analogs while out drinking/socializing. I definitely used to smoke more while drinking/socializing and haven't really been in that situation yet, so who knows. I think I'm hooked on the 510, but I guess that first big night out will be a true test. I will say that I've been to two movies since I started vaping and have vaped through both of them. Quite enjoyable, and easy to do - just hold it in until it disappears. Easy peasy.

Had one analog on the first day, one puff on an analog the second day then when back into my office crushed my pack of analogs and literally mashed it into an unrecognizable ball and proceeded to thank GOD for bringing me and e-cigs together.

I smoked a pack a day or more for 30 years and I started when I was 12!!! Having grown up with both parents chain-smoking, I can pretty much say I have been smoking since I was born.
I have tried everything known to man to quit smoking and nothing worked for me. This is an absolute no brainer for every heavily addicted smoker out there.

I find it is a major travesty that the IDIOTS from the FDA, Heath Canada, cancer societies etc. proclaim that "there is no evidence that electronic cigarettes help smokers quit". There likely isn't any evidence if you have your blinders on and don't actually do a survey or ask users of e-cigs. TOTAL INCOMPETENCY on their part and whoever their Directors are should be FIRED!!!

Sorry for the long post and yelling but I just had to vent.

Those idiots have never had anyone's best interests at heart on ecigs or on any other health issues as far as I can tell, and I'm sure they never will. My biggest concern about ecigs is that they will be outlawed or regulated so those fools can try to make a huge profit for themselves or their evil lobbyists. Thereby f-ing it up for all of us. They can't be trusted.

I mixed analogs and e-cigs for about 2 months until I built a couple of 4.5 volt plug in mods. One at home, one at work and 510s for in-between. The higher voltage really helped me drop analogs altogether. No I carry a V2 for the in-between times. I tried a couple of drags from my brothers analog about a week back - it didn't produce enough smoke and the TH wasn't that good.

20+ year smoker here. I have just started vaping again after about a year back on analogs. Some days I just vape, other days I have a few cigarettes as well...but they never taste good, or satisfy me. A bunch of attys blew so right now all I have as my PS PT, so I have been keeping cigarettes around for when I have to go out (not too often, as I work from home likr 12 hours a day!), but a pack sits there forever now. There's a pack on my table, has been there all day, and after having one this morning I haven't had the desire to touch them since. Once my attys get here, I'll have my Prodigy for going out, and I doubt I'll bother keeping any analogs around...when I do smoke them, I'm disappointed and want a good vape instead!

I smoked 25+ years and the day I bought my first ecig is the same day I left analogs behind me..I had 8 full packs left and I thought.. may be I will be able to smoke'm up ( I was smoking easy 2 packs a day..well I really tried ...just could not !!! it really tasted sooo bad that I decided i am done with analog..well I ended pass them to my neighbor and that been just about 55 days ago!! I tried every possible alternative like nasal snuff back in 2003-2004 when it became a hit and I got almost all kind imaginable with different strength and flavor and from all corners of the world ...i was still smoking!! then in 2007-2008 the Swedish snus ..still did not replace smoking fully ..off course tried the bills and patches/gum all but utter failure.
finally vaping ..BINGO ..I was smoker no more!! did not look back since and don't miss it either.
this my testimony and i attest to it-)

Update: 3 months in:
25 years at a pack and a half per day...
For the first few weeks of vaping, I'd have an analog or two a day, simply because I never wanted to think of myself as actually quitting cigarettes, I was just getting into vaping as a novelty to enjoy nicotine at work without going outside. It's been over two months now without an analog, and without the desire to ever have one again! I finally gave away my last three pounds of RYO tobacco I had stashed in the basement.:D

Seriously did everyone instantly quit analogs? I'm still smoking them when my pv charges. I really want to quit them. Just want to know so I don't feel like I'm the only cat doin this or who has done this etc.

I quit cold turkey the day my 510 came in, 2/11/10. I had some nasty urges and I still have a few that seem to catch me at odd times, but I just vape through them, even when my body says it wants something else. I figure if I can force feed it just the nicotine and tell myself this is all I'm getting. I'll find the light at the end of the PV :D and I will be happy.
