I went from 2 1/2 packs a day to 4 analogs a day. Still haven't finished the carton I have. I really did not go to vaping to "quit" smoking. When the state and feds boned us with all the taxes I bought cigs from indian reservations via the internet. $19 a carton vs $50. Now the feds are banning shipping cigs via the mail and ups, fedex ect. vaping seemed a viable option and I love it. Hey being healthier is a great too!

I still smoke a cigarette a day usually, but have gone 2 days sometimes without. I have been buying a pack for over the weekend lately (going to the bar of course) and tend to go back and forth at the bar even. At the end of last weekend i had 3 cigarettes left. (Not too shabby for a quitter of a pack and a half to two packs a day over 20 years) I've been trying to reduce the stress of quitting...not feeling bad when i choose to smoke. So far it's been working.

Until August 15th of 2009 I smoked one and a half to two packs a day for 42 years. When I was Googling less expensive RYO tobacco I stumbled across a reference to electronic cigarettes. After more Googling I located this Forum.

I loved smoking, but purchased a kit out of sheer curiosity. After firing up my PV I accidentally quit smoking completely. There was no looking back, and I don't miss it a bit.

Exact same thing with me!

If you really want to quit real cigs, it will happen, just don't force it. Don't beat yourself up for lighting up.

40+ years of lighting up the real thing, I bought my first pv just to try, possibly cut back on smoking the real thing. After 1 week, the real thing tasted nasty. So, I'm an accidental non-smoker now.

I've have one really bad experience...urge to smoke a real cig, but puffing on a couple of pvs pretty much at the same time for just a few minutes, killed that urge to light up.

Higher nic juice will also help overcome those "I gotta have a real smoke" urges.

Almost 6 months smoke free tomorrow & I"m down to 12mg nic liquid.

You are not the only one who does not stop smoking analogs immediately. In fact, some never manage to give them up completely. And I should guess that most of those who did did not quite manage within 24 hours, although that does happen.
Check those polls, for example:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/polls/6470-e-cig-success-rate.html
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/polls/60216-vaping-all-you-need.html

Don't try to use juice with nicotine levels that don't satisfy you at first, even if you do want to reduce them later. (Which not everybody does want, and there is probably little need for it, actually.) And make sure you have sufficient backup of everything – hardware and liquid. Running out of either is not good.

If you cannot entirely stop analogs, do look into smokeless tobacco. Still considerably better than cigarettes.

Me, I was smoke-free two days after I got my 510, without even planing to stop smoking. Only to experience, after about four tobacco-free weeks, both growing nervousness and a craving not for analogs, but for snus which I had not even liked when I tried it ages ago. Now I am fine with vaping only and a portion or two of snus a day.

Hit the ashtray couple of times when crushing the Bud Cans.
But after a cart or 2 I hated the butts.
I had other E-Cigs before an always hit the Stokes inbetween.
Got the 510 and WOW I could die with this.
NO more Annies strickly Digities from then on.
Been Tabacco free since 8-2009.
When you start digies you'll might want that clip inbetween so hit it.
It'll taste like SHAKE soon enough.
Keep vaping and it will be OK.
I was a HEAVY Smoker! So I started with 24mg nicotine.
Now I cant tell if I have 24 - 16 - or NONE.
Just love the HIT with my Morning coffee.
PS
You may get a BITE from your VAPE when after you eat.
Try different flavor if need be.
You'll be fine! And before you know it --- No more walks in the COLD
For that Stinky Tabacco Cig!!!
Good LUk!

Still smoke a few a day, Mostly at work, being a Chef it is the only time I get away from the kitchen all day. Sometimes up to 16 hours on my feet, no lunch breaks or 15s for us. So steping out to smoke it the only way to get a way, but even now I'm starting to just step out for a vape. Hopefully soon. But I've been vaping for about a month. But very soon there will be no more anologs!
Good Luck and Best Wishes.

Seriously did everyone instantly quit analogs? I'm still smoking them when my pv charges. I really want to quit them. Just want to know so I don't feel like I'm the only cat doin this or who has done this etc.

Although there are a number of wonderful success stories here, the best advice is to go at your own pace. Whatever feels comfortable to you and you alone. Do not feel that if you pick up a cigarette after you start vapeing you have somehow failed. Everyone has a different process to go through. Try to congratulate yourself at first by knowing you are smoking less and try to vape through a craving.

Good luck to you !

I had some hardware issues and continued smoking for a week. I got a second kit in and on the seventh day I noticed that the smokes in my last pack had gotten stale. After trying so many other methods to quit smoking, I was not convinced that a toy cigarette would be the solution. I thought I could use them to cut back - and I was ...... that none of the new $1 tax on cigarettes was going to help smokers. That was then - boy, did I ever cut back. I suppose that the tax had an effect on my smoking. I quit smoking. I hope that enough people switch to e-cigs so the tax they collect is lower than before they increased it. That would serve the greedy nanny state right.

I didn't go completley analog free when I first got my 510. I had about half a pack left and finished it up the night I got my ecig because I wasn't comfortable relying on such a new thing at the bar. Since then I haven't not bought a pack or even wanted to, though I have had a few analogs at the bar bummed off of my buddy.

Though even after two analogs at the bar I had an almost stronger urge to use the 510 instead, its a lot more satisfying in a lot more ways and also pretty darn convenient. I'll probably have the odd analog now and then but for now it seems the ecig has lured me right away from the dark mother :D .
