Did I get the wrong wicks for my Evod?

Hi, sorry for the dumb question, but I really don't get voltages and resistances. Anyway, the wicks that came with my Evod set were 2.2 , and I'm running out of these. I noticed the wicks don't seem to be lasting at all-maybe 5 days before they stop producing vapour, even after regular cleaning.

anyway, I went to my local shop and brought more Evod wicks; I showed the bloke my Evod and he gave me 2.5 wicks, saying they're standard and I guess I'm worried about this being too high? I haven't tried using one yet; not until I know I wouldn't be damaging my kit in some way. Again, sorry for the noob question, but I'm a new vaper.

Oh yeah, I read somewhere that plugging up the small air holes at the base of the Evod tank with blue tack or candle wax provides a better draw; any truth to this?

If you're experiencing short life from the coil heads, you may be running too high of voltage to them. Are you using a variable voltage battery? if so, what setting?
For a 2.5 ohm coil, start out at 3.9 to 4.0 volts and take a few vapes. Then up it to 4.1-4.2 volts and check for flavor and vapor production. Go from there.

Also, DON'T block the air holes. All that will do is create a super tight draw which will not allow the juice to flow, and result in burnt coils.

I'm here, when I'm here
1.8, 2.2, 2.5...all will work. Also depends on the voltage or wattage your battery/mod is set at. If your using a vv/vw, this may help:
Volts,Ohms & Watts
If your using a non-vv/vw like an ego or kgo, those are a 3.7v battery.

You want some air going across your wick or you're, basically, boiling your liquid in a somewhat closed pot, so to speak. Air flow also helps with draw. Imagine trying to use a straw with the end pinched. Ain't gonna get much. I drilled out my air holes on my Mini Pros to 1/16" and kinda turbo-charged it! Loads of vapor and still have flavor.

Good luck and Happy Vaping!! :vapor:

I've also rebuilt several Evod and Protank coils. It's pretty easy if you are decent at wrapping coils. You'll likely have to build a few different set ups before you find out what type of build works for your desires.

Don't try and go below 28 gauge wire on them. The bottom center pin will not fit correctly with thicker wire.
